98 3800 GT to Supercharged 3800 ?'s

Recently I bought a 98 grand prix gt, well the motor seized up and I have the chance to get a supercharged 3800 from a 2000 gtp, wiring harness and computer for 500. I am just curious to know if I can do this swap with out having to change transmissions and if there is any other reasons why I couldnt do it.
 


search button is ur friend. it can be done.. but i dont feel like typing it all out.. search for L67 swap.
 
i searched and didnt see any threads right off teh bat.... u will need complete motor... wiring harness and PCM ... trans u have isnt the HD like GTP's have.. it also has different gearing... u would need to get trans tables changed in ur PCM to keep the 3.29 ratio... which can be done cheap and easily.
 
where would I get that done? the motor Im thinking about getting is complete motor w/ harness and pcm. would it just not shift if i didnt get the pcm changed?
 
ur final drive gear ratio would be 2.93 anyone with a tuner can do it... look for reptile on here.... he tunes PCM's and can set trans tables for ya. u can still drive the car... but GTP gear ratio sucks.
 


dont wanna say a price for someone elses services... but less than 100 bucks for what u need. ive dealt with him before.. hes good ppl.
 


Is it inside the trans? I only have limited funds atm, and am trying not to purchess the trans if I dont have to as mines in great shape now.
 
Yes, the diff is on the passenger side of the transmission...you will also need that axle shaft since it is shorter than the one currently in your car
 
Would that diff and axel work with current transmission? I really dont want to change the trans, I can get the trans but he wants 700 for motor and trans and Im really trying to only spend the 500 due to budgeting issues.

Turns out after looking at the donor motor today with a fine tooth comb it has a blown head gasket. The search is resumed now.
