Radio light is out, how do I fix

I have a 2001 Grand Prix GT.

My radio seems to be working just fine, but the light that displays the time, the radio station, CD track number quit working one day soon after I started my car.

Did the light just burn out? Is this an easy fix?

Thanks,
Todd

I don't have a link but it's pretty straight forward. Somebody else posted this that should help.

Remove two screws holding the drivers side bottom cover of the dash (hint, one screw is near the OBD II port) then pull it towards you.

Then tilt the steering wheel all the way down then pull towards you... pull on the clips until it comes off, then take it off?

Then its two screws/bolts on the side of the radio

Hi new guy here does anyone know if 04 and up have the same setup with the bulb I have same problem withmy 05 gt thanks

Thanks I took it apart today it looks out of my leauge of ability. At least the HUDtells me what station it's on Thanks again

Anybody have any additional help on this. I have and 05 GT with the same issue. I am pretty handy and removed the radio and its face plate. It is not the same as all the pictures and descriptions of removing a bulb. THe display is in a sealed metal box. My guess is the burnt out bulbs are in the metal unit that is somehow soldered to he circuit board in the faceplate bezel. Sound right? Can we fix it ourselves? Anybody done it?
Thanks!

I would also like to know how to do this on an 05 GT. Left left side of my display is really dim now. Any handy info on how to do this?

I did it! I repaired the 3 lights in my 05 GT's radio. I used bulbs from Radio Shack. Total cost was about $8. I also took pictures of the whole procedure. Will try to have a write-up done by Sunday night. Any suggestions on how to do that on this forum. Can I put all the pictures and instruction in a single Word document and upload it? Or is there a better way.

It wasn't too difficult. A few tricky parts and time consuming (about 2 hours). I have assembled a 13 MB Word document that has all the pictures and step by step instructions. Not sure how or where to upload it in this forum. Any suggestions? If you want me to email it somehow get me your email address. I think you can send me a private message in this forum with your email address.
