I have looked and looked,, where can i get a wixaired Cold Air intake for my 05 GTP? I have seen them for 04's and down, but not 05 and above,, I really like the look and would love one,, someone please point me to where they can be found.... thanks...

Overkill's site says its compatible with 04+ Grand Prixs, and doesn't mention any year restrictions. I bet ZZP just never updated their site to the current model years. I bet it works. E-mail them and ask...

I believe Sabrewings is correct. Should be any difference between an 04 and 05. I'm sure if you call or email ZZP, they will confirm. FWIW, if you dont mine the extra the Cold Air Induction box looks even nicer than the new version of the Wizaired like I have.

 What "Cold Air Induction box"? I thought that's what the WizAired was.

As far as their years not being accurate, you have to read between the lines with ZZP. Three years later, they still haven't completely gotten it that all Impalas 2000-2005 are the same. ;)

Then again, neither has Wbodystore or a few other vendors. Guess we're like the red-headed step children of w-bodies or something. :th_shakinghead2:

I don't know. I like how it uses screws and not bungees, but that's about it. They look similar enough to not be a big deal...

I know they are all just CAI boxes, but the CAI one looks like a better built box all the way around, to me.

take a look at some of these pictures CAI discussion

The other thing I like is the stoct Fduct and IAT where it belongs. The Wizaired duct blows. I've purchased 3 additional ones at $40 each as they dont hold up that well. I've rigged up my stock fduct to work on my Wizaired a few times, but it is a pain to install and remove.

Those boxes are definitely the nicest CAI setup around. I like my Wizaired, but the box is a bit flimsy. After having major A/C work done, and a new engine put in, mechanics have really distorted my box. :( I've got it back to normal pretty much now, but that CAI box looks like thicker aluminum that is welded and probably more sturdy.

Actually, I think the F-duct is the one weak spot in their system as far as flow is concerned. Don't LS1 folks spend like $70+ on smooth bellows from SLP to gain some HP lost due to the ribbing? But from a practicality standpoint, yeah the stock duct would be MUCH easier to deal with.

Also, if you need to buy a new intake tube, don't buy it through ZZP. If you order the replacement tube alone from Easy Performance it is like $30 cheaper. I guess not buying the little 4" tube, hose clamps, etc. make a big difference.

To the OP, I don't think the CAI system is compatible with 04+ GPs, so the Wizaired is probably your best bet.

The fduct on a n/a may be an issue but with a screen in the TB, I'm not sure it matters so much and especially since the air is getting beat up in our s/c.

I did buy my replacement ducts from easyperformance. Seems the rping on those have come down. I need another again.:(

Eventually I'll do like my first Wizaired and modify the box to accept the fduct with the filter attached.

Good point about the CAI brand possibly not fitting the 04+. I would certainly ask though.

I just copied this from Easy Performance's website:
Reflective Silicone Intake Duct, 3800 Series II 3800 Series II $15.00
Reflective Silicone Intake Duct, Intercooled 3800 Intercooled 3800 $25.00
Reflective Silicone Intake Duct, LS1 TB-MAF 3800 with LS1 TB & MAF $30.00
Reflective Silicone Intake Duct, Series III 3800 Series III $25.00

I guess prices went up a tad at the first of the year since I was checking before for a series II duct and it was $10 at the time, but it still isn't too bad.

Yeah I don't know that the ribbing makes a big deal, especially on a fuel injected motor. Back when I had a carb the turbulent air was more of an issue in that situation.

Over the winter I ran a HAI and I used ZZP's silicone coupler and man did I like how that worked. It didn't get all mangled up and I didn't have to worry about whether or not it was air tight on the TB. I want to try a 45* elbow and a length of 4" pipe, but I don't know if it will match up with the opening on the Wizaired box.
