i have a 2001. so it wasnt an option. i read the post on installing it but it says something about having to reprogram the pcm to know. would it be possible to just swap a 2000 gtp pcm into my car so it has the programming done?

i know i went through that whole thing. its this part at the end

"The last important thing to note that Swash discovered is that you need to make sure your PCM is setup to know it has the performance shift available. Here are tips for checking that.
1) Calibration Data-->Transmission-->Shift Switch-->Shift_Switch_Type = set this to 1 (default is 0)
2) Calibration Data-->Transmission-->Shift Switch-->Discrete_Switch_Debounce_Time = 25 (currently yours is 200 (I believe this is the factory default))
"
it makes it seem like you have to change setting on your pcm am i right?

Nope...I just bought it prewired 3 years ago and that was my first mod to the car. I plugged it in and the light showed up right away.

wait, so your saying i dont need to reprogram the pcm? because i can see the light unlit on my gauges and digital display.

Right...because all of them are programmed into the what...#24 pin in the PCM...and if nothing is there when you plug it it'll light up and you SHOULD be able to use Perf. shift

well i did this and no luck. i put the wire in the #21 connector on the pcm. at first i didnt want to wire the whole thing to a switch so i just attached the other end of the wire to a ground. reattached the battery, and the PS didnt light up so idk what to do now.

Then it's gotta be set into the PCM, if you have a PT, it's an easy 20 minute job (including pulling the file off).
