99 GTP runs fine cold, seems to lose a cylinder when up to temp?

OH SH!TTTTT MAKE WAY FOR GOD PPL, i fried my whole front bank due to a clogged cat... dont sit here and say a clogged cat wont cause misfires. it WILL.... who are u to tell anyone to shutup? nobody.. thats right. so u stfu. im guessing u came here from CLUBGP. greatttt. dude has a problem and im giving him ideas to address them.

You guys are right, lets go ahead and fix something that probably isn't a problem because some idiot drove around on a clogged cat and didn't notice it lmao. There's some intelligence up in here.
 
it was noticed... i wasnt driving around on a completely clogged cat. was restricted enough to fry 3 pistons at a fairly long WOT pull.... now take ur douchebaggery elsewhere. u seem really smart sayin a clogged CAT wont cause mis fires. plugs may be his only prob... doubtful.. rotten egg is **** inside CAT burning.

Rotten egg smell is a tried old issue for clogged converters...which lead to misfires and loads of other engine issues. If you know so much you should know that to say the least.
 


Another sort of "tell tale" is to look at the converter and see if it's a bluish color, when they start to go bad, they loose their efficiency, and can tend to get extremely hot when they begin to clog.
 
UPDATE

OK, got the car back, new NGK plugs and wires...it's still doing it. Now they're saying the whole rear bank isn't firing, they say it may be a worn cam or bent pushrods which doesn't make much sense to me because if it was the case wouldn't it always do it? Not just when the engine gets up to temp? They've ruled out any electrical problems...any ideas??? It does idle much better since the new plugs/wires, before it gets up to temp that is...
 
drive the car at night... look under the car when u get done, somewhere where there isnt much light and see if the cat is glowing.

OK, will do BUT if it is a clogged/bad cat, wouldn't it run ****ty right off the start? Wouldn't the excess backpressure affect the entire engine as opposed to just the rear bank? Does the flow of exhaust become increasingly impeded as the cat rises in tempurature?

I'm in no way dismissing your theory gtpinsc, I appreciate your feedback man, I've got an infrared thermometer, I'll take a reading of the cat as soon as I shut her down when I get home from work tomorrow...
 


im not 100% sure... heat causes expansion. this is just a shot in the dark, but if the **** in the cat is expanding after it heats up maybe its causing more restriction?
 
certain brands of fuel can also cause a rotten egg smell.
The easy way to check for a clogged cat is to pull the 1st O2 sensor and see what kind of pressure you have and see how the car runs with it out.

Any chance of an intermittent coil? Do these cars have 1 small cat per side like many of the GM v8s?

BTW. I've seen it where worn engines loose compression as they warm up. Most likely due to cold thick oil helping the worn rings keep compression but washing away as it gets hot.
 
Why don't you replace the cat? Seems to be the reason the car runs like crap, the rear bank requires a working cat to actually fire correctly, this is a known fact. That is why all the smart guys on here suggested you replace it, cause clearly that's the first thing everyone would do. Every time i have a problem i just replace the cat, a/c wasn't working, i replaced the cat, bam, cold air conditioning again. I had a flat tire the other day, i replaced the cat, bam, no more flat tire.
