Air intake HELP!

someone please tell me why i see so many cars here with cone filters stickin on the TB or even in that area! why would you ever want a HOT Air Intake? Is there some secret to more power that all those people know about here?

i beleive its because it is easier to get air from the engine bay, less restriction in the intake tube(if you wanna call it that). hot air is not as good as cold. but colder air makes the car run a little cooler and in turn gives more hp and then there goes your gas milage. im probly wrong but thats my theory :)

A lot of guys on here have other ways of cooling the air (methanol and intercoolers) therefor they don't need to worry about hot air, they just want as little restriction as possible. Others do it for the gas mileage boost that hot air gives over cold air :th_thumbsup-wink:

WOW. The reason is on higher HP and intercooled builds the restriction inst worth the temp differences. There has been lots of discussion on clubgp and this one regarding it. Look around
