Tint

I'm getting my car tinted next weekend and want to figure out my exact tint that I would like to use.

In Alberta the law states that you can't tint the front windows at all unless it came like that from the previous owner or manufacturer. I'm still going to tint the front windows but not a lot.

The tint shop I want to go to has Madico Charcool. I think what I'm going to do is go with a 55% on the front windows (make it a bit less obvious) then 35% on the back sides then finally 20% on the back.

I really want to try to abide by the law as much as possible while still bending it a tad.

I have a picture of a Mazda 3 with the same tint, same shades throughout the car and I think it looks good.

Main reasons why I'm tinting is that it's Black on Black Leather. It gets really hot easily and I don't like running the AC all the time.

You think it's a good idea?

Thanks!

Here are the pictures I found with the exact same tint as well as the same percentages.

Get it tinted the same % all the way around, or it looks rice. I'd get 20% all the way around. If you get pulled, say you bought it like that.

I have 20% all the way around. My sate law says you can only do 35 all around. I've never been hassled for it

I know quite a few people that do get pulled over for tinting but it's about once every couple months I hear about it happening to someone. They have pretty harsh tints though, 5% all around or 25% all around.

The only reason why I want to go lighter in the front is because it's pretty much illegal here to have any tint at all on the front windows.

i plan on doing 20-15 all around when i do mine.

Kuntzie, ever have a problem with it?? I know London cops wont even stop ya for speeding/running a red, so tint is the least of their worries, but other cities who knows.. and im in k/w fairly often

I have either 20% or 15%, I don't remember. I have had it for 2 years and I have never been hasseled on it. If you aren't driving like an idiot or doing something stupid, odds are the cops won't waste there time just to check your tint.

That doesn't work. Actually sold a car with tint too dark, and she got pulled over 3 times, they made her take it off, and she got tickets. And yes, she obviously said she bought it that way.

oh, well it usually works around here. But cops around here can't pull over cars for tint anymore because it's costing them too much money for little fines.
