Why don't more people make use of the ski hole?

Have had my car for 7 years, and finally installed a new headunit, and wired up for a small amp for subs in the back. Had JL Audio separates left in by the previous owner I discovered front and deck speakers back, so sounds much better than stock speakers.

I used to have a 94 Grand Prix with a JL Audio dual 10" bandpass box. It was nice as we moved the single port from up top, to firing back, so it lined up perfect with the ski hole. This was great, as no sound was in the trunk at all. Of course they don't make that model anymore.....it was back in 94.....

I'm suprized I don't see more setups like this. Most are boxes just firing into the back of the trunk that just have to rattle the crap out of it. :th_laugh-lol2:

I got a grill on mine and my sub is pointing right at it! No rattle and bass where I want it.All inside!

I hope that is the mock-up. I'm wishing I can find an old JL audio box again and move the port to face the hole. You can open the trunk and not hear a thing as all ported right into the cabin.
Who care's what it looks like, i bet it's really loud... my box looks super ugly but i'm sure ill put lots of other systems to shame.

I know it's prob a crappy box, but I had a blown 10" sub in my 15yr old best buy bandpass box. So I just ordered this for 151$ as I still had a trial of Amazon Prime with free 2 day shipping. Will run it with a Phoenix Gold Ti 500.4 Amp a buddy gave to me.

I figure it's flashy enough to make it a quick resale down the line if I don't like it or get tired of it.
