So what else can feel like spark blowout?

Ok I'm having an issue here. Lately my car has been randomly surging at mid to WOT. It feels like spark blowout the way it's surging and the CEL isn't blinking when it does it so it's not misfiring. What else could cause something like this? The trans slipping? Torque management? Burst KR lol? I don't know and my aeroforce just **** out on me and I don't have a laptop for my tuner right now so I can't really see what's going on.
 


pull the plugs and check the gap would be the 1st place Id start. I just noticed ytesturday im losing about 6 mpg also on a N/A GP I drive 200 miles a day to work and back and @ 75 I was getting around 28.5 mpg I plan on doing plugs and fuel filter along with oil change this weekend

Ya I already put in some new AL104's, but it didn't do the trick.
 
..umm...what are you plugs gapped at? if you say you did not gap them and just put them in ill hunt you down and slap you.

Haha don't worry bio, I took special care of the plugs:th_thumbsup-wink:. I cut back the ground strap and side gapped them all at .045.
 


Well idk what the problem is, but it seems to have vanished temporarily. Yesterday I made about 6-7 WOT pulls from various speeds without any problems, although it was fairly cold out compared to the rest of the days which is leading me to believe it could be a trans issue :th_shakinghead2:. I guess we'll see when it warms up again.

my car was doing the exact same thing, stuttering like a ***** from 4k-6k rpm...not every time though, it would go away sometimes completely, or sometimes would not be as bad as other times..i put new plugs in, which helped for about a week, then it came back. I started to think it was a trans problem too, but then i checked the coils, and one was bad...changed it for a new delco, and voila problem solved. Car runs great now. HTHs

Hmm interesting, how do you check for a bad coil pack? I have a good used set sitting in my basement so that'd be an easy fix if that's the issue.
