Twin charge, Turbo, or build up the Super charger?

imo a tep tranny should be the first mod anyone should do to their cars if they plan on modding... if you already have a 3.4 setup i would advise this addition. and if you do end up goin turbo i would highly reccommend it. in fact the first major mod to my gtp will be the tep tranny with 3.69 gears.

yea if this is your DD, then i would stay away from a turbo. some people can keep them reliable, some cant. but your blower has a higher chance of not messing up. port the SC/ cam it, drop pulley, then see if you want to go any further.

and thats the same gearing that the gtp's came with. am i correct????

Ah yes a tranny well lucky for me my tranny went and so now i have a fully rebuilt tranny with the harder 4th gear and a shift kit and what not it been 2 years since it been replaced i dont remember what all they did. And i am leaning towards the cam mod with stock heads right now im just undecided on which cam i been looking at the xp cam which i like but the gt cam has a pretty mean rumble to it for a 6 cylinder lol

I know i made a mistake when i bought my car i wasnt thinking about modding at the time of buying it though. What i should have bought was a trans am now thats a car i would really like to have but right now i am stuck with what i got so i figure why not make this as fast as i can make it. At least until i can afford my trans am.

Btw i am planing on getting more than just a cam like a double rollmaster timing chain, new springs, retainers, and i cant remember what else off the top of my head but everything i can get thats safe with stock heads until i can afford some new heads.

My goal with this car is to get at least 300whp. Not like i need it around where i live cause with my current setup now anyone that i have raced i have won besides the early 70s z28 camaro that crushed me he pulled away like i was standing still and it was an amazing feeling lol

If you get that double roller you will have to chamfer (*sp) your gear to make it work. You want it to have look as the same as the stock timing chain gear. Otherwise you will not have enough clearance and it will fail.

Ok so you want 300 HP??

throw an XP cam in it with supporting mods, run a smaller pulley, and put an intercooler on it, and tune that, it should get you in the neighborhood

i dont think stock trans will like turbo much. but yeah, you want twin charge, blower, turbo, pick one already lol. if sticking with budget minded fun, have minichopper6 hook up your blower and port and polish that bad boy. if you want an upgrade somewhat over that, get a genV and have him tweak it. otherwise, have fun and enjoy the speed...

**** i forgot about that well then just a better chain ^_^

and 300 shall be good enough for this car. Then I will save up till I can afford a nice trans am. :th_thumbsup-wink:

3.69s? seriously? why would you want to make your car undriveable on the street? even 3.29s on the street with anything more than a 3.4 setup are a joke.

^^What was the point of that post? I have 3.29's and blew the tires off in 1st and most of the time in 2nd and I had a XP setup with a 3.2" with a bunch of other crap. I should have kept the 2.93's but 35 mph burnouts are fun. 3.69's are just retarded

true but im prolly not gonna increase the hp on my motor very much i prolly wont even go with a 3.4. so 369s would be just fine for me with that kind of power and for the fact that i dont have any desire to go stupid fast. if i were to go stupid on my car id prolly get the 329s or stay with the 293s

It's a different ball game there dude, I don't think you get it...but its your car...you do whatever.

i get it blue... ive done research. i know what im doing. i know the truck and car are different. i know how this will affect my car.
