Twin charge, Turbo, or build up the Super charger?

So I have been throwing ideas around I know I shouldn't be cause I shouldn't waste the money on it but I suppose it doesn't hurt to look.

But, I have been tossing the twin charged idea around since I already have the super charger I was thinking I could get the sts universal kit which is a rear mounted turbo kit. Which I think would make everything a lot more easier.

Otherwise, I could just get the sts turbo kit block off the m90 and just run a turbo.

Or, I was thinking about getting a the XP Cam https://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=117&msg=1&catid=104 Since I can run it with stock heads at least for now.

BTW, sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot but I don't think there is a good spot for this post. If so notify me cause I am sure I will have more questions.

Get a ported/polished s/c and go with the twincharge setup from ZZP, with the ball-bearing T76, along with all the other supporting mods, get it tuned, and go really damn fast...

then again....theres really no need for that kind of power....but it's still fun.

IMHO...it's easiest to just build up the S/C.

Well i have to keep in mind that i have a kid coming in the next six months so im just throwing ideas around. I think i am gonna rule out twin charge cause it seems like it pretty complicated and i dont have that much time to mess with that stuff cause i need a car since its my dd and my family car lol.

I would love to sts turbo it the way it sounds is amazing and i heard that a guy put nothing but the sts kit on a stock 3.8 and at 9psi he went from 166 to 268 whp. Also install seems pretty easy just coming up with the 2k is that problem.

A cam setup seems to be the one that makes the most sense cause of cost and i can do it over the winter when i drive my truck.

Well if on a budget, and you still want plenty of power, get a cam, heads, headers, full stack intercooler, tiny ass pulley, Dyno tune, injectors...etc.

If you can get a shop to do your heads, and find a good price on an IC, it really shouldnt cost a whole lot. Plus it'd still be upgradeable.

it is very expensive I keep telling myself after I buy something that this is it after this im done. then i start looking at stuff and i fall right back into looking at stuff. then i start getting ideas and bam i am right back here asking questions and figuring stuff out and pricing stuff out. *sigh* i wish i had more money haha. to bad i cant talk sts into sponsoring me and have them sell there kit to me for like half cost or something ;) haha

Haha Yeah, I know how that goes..
But if you plan accordingly, IE keeping the modding safe (new heads and timing chain before a wild Cam) you'll be fine.

I'm running a 3.4 pulley atm with 0 knock, so obviously I dont need an IC atm. Money would be better spent on heads.

You know your budget, better to spend it wisely than to blow it all away on a ****ing CAI....*I did that...*

what the hell, i posted in this thread yesterday....

all i said is that an m90 build is the cheapest, most reliable, and most easily streetable setup you can have. if youre not planning on making as much power as possible then stick with the blower.

Haha, well i already got the cai i had it from my first grand prix. But my current mods are speed daddy headers, cai, autolite 104s, 10mm plug wires, 3.4 pulley, reprogrammed pcm.

And i been looking at the xp cam which says its safe to run with stock head i would also get the retainers bigger springs and whatever else it comes with i figured that would be the smartest and i do believe other people run a cam with stock heads at least until i can afford different heads.

What about nitrous? I bet with the 3.4 setup and say like a 100 shot your cars gonna boogey! Maybe even a 125 shot

s1x,xp both good with stock heads
and stock timing chains for the most part

but like said above if you want cheap power find a used n2o kit

If you wanna build up cam it easiest and cheapest things

N2O can make you giggle, but I personally wouldnt run it in my car, simply because I'd rather have the power all the time. I think you'd do best to get a ported LIM, heads and Cam....

then sell the car and buy something fast....

XD, your mods are almost the same as mine.

you honestly dont know enough about what you want with your car if you cant decide between a blower setup or a turbo setup (let alone both together). seriously, figure that out and then we can tell you where to go. of course you want more power than your current 3.4 setup because your car is still slow at that point in comparison to what you could do.

goals FIRST, then recommendations. if you drive this car everyday you do not want 280+ whp. if you do then you bought the wrong car to start with.

X2

Unless you really know what the hell your doing and are comfortable with a tuner then it's feasible.

No one really runs a sts style kit/rear mount turbo on these cars because it's a lot more $ and there is hardly any room to run the piping under the car as well as running a separate oil system because the turbo is sitting too low.

If you really want to, look into a Z3 turbo kit and a a/a intercooler and i would stop right there. Anything past that and your looking at a lot of trans work and reliability issues. Just a base turbo kit on these cars is enough to keep you happy and easily run some good times.
