I just finished installing an 03 gt motor, transmission, cooler lines, and PCM in my 1999gt. I used the 99gt raange switch. The cars runs good, and PNR work, but when I put it in D, it wont shift out of first, and It does the same thing when I tried to manually select 2 and 3. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated!

Look at the back side of the PCM.. should be a sticker that says Serv. No :

The white sticker in this picture.

Did you use the range switch off of the 03? or did you use your old one?

I just swapped the tranny, no other electrical swaps.., and I had the exact same issue. I was trying to run my old 2001 pcm and it wouldnt work with the 03 tranny.

Hmmm thats interesting. I just cant figure it out because I used the PCM from the donor car. I think ill go out and check the PCM for a #

That is the right PCM number, do you know anyone with a Powrtuner (To re-flash the PCM with an 03 GT file)? I was thinking you had the wrong service number the whole time. The PCM swap fixed my issue.

Good Point Dagger... i didnt see that you responded until after I wrote this... however, my experience is below.

I tried/bought 4 different PCM's and they wont' work. Just first gear... I have a spare 03 Regal LS PCM... It has a different service number.. so i never tried it. The other buick PCM... the car wouldnt even crank. I could try to flash it... but that doesnt mean it will work. I wonder if your PCM is like an early model of that serv no...it was my understanding that 03+ PCMs had different internals... so if you used a non-03 ... you would get the shifting issue. .

Sure, just give me a few days to make sure everything is alright with the current setup, and I would be interested in a trade
