hi i am putting a 4t65e-hd trand in my gp gt and am wondering what i need the trans is from a 97 park ave ultra the drive ratio is apparently 3.05 and yes it is 4t65e im pretty sure so i know i need to change the ratio in the trans but will a non hd converter work and what about cv axels thanks

1. There's no such thing as a 4T65E-HD with a 3.05 ratio. They were all 2.93 except for the Comp G, which was 3.29.

2. The converter itself doesn't have anything do to with the transmission. The converter bolts up to the flexplate, which is what has to match your converter's bolt pattern.

3. The driver's side half shaft is the same, the passenger's side is different.
 
You will have to deal with the different connections for the cooler lines, but that's not too bad. Worst case if you just buy cooler lines from a 97.
 


when to get the tranny and the housing is craked damit so now im stuck with no tranny the only one they had was a 97 no hd so i think it was a 4t60e and the other wreckers want 500 for a 4t65e from a 01 or i could rebuild mine
