• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

help me break 13's :/

on factory shift points, stock tune, stock pulley with intake and leaking ass pacesetters with a 2.18 60" i went 14.1 at 98mph.

either something mechanical is wrong with the car, or that place sucks at tuning.

even with intake, headers and rockers, stock tune and stock pulley on a 95* day with D/A in the 3500 foot range i still traped 96-97 and went 14.2.

i think you need to have a grand prix guy look over the tune.

It is easy to get rid of knock when you lower the timing. Where in NJ are you? See...i knew that place sucked from the very first gp that was tuned there. The first guy said he did such a good job and I only have 2-3* of KR.....that to me is unacceptable if I am paying for a dyno tune. A tune consists of more than just strapping the car on the dyno and messing with the computer. Regap the plugs and you need a real tune

well this ****ing blows...and i paid good money too. Im heading over and getting a fresh set of plugs, thanks for that link, that was helpful. Im in somerset county (hillsborough) do you know of a good place or guy i can go too?

tune time was recommended by 3 others on here, its the talk over on the cobalt forums and ls, so I'm pretty surprised at my outcome

I hear 3800 chris gives a pretty good tune. If he can not, I will tune it. Maybe we should just get together for a few minutes and I pull the tune from it to see WTF is going on. No need for new plugs, just regap them.

edit: I work in Springfield and live in Parlin

that would be awesome, let me know when your free to look at it. I don't have hptuners or anything. I'll send you a pm.

1st to 2nd shift 5444rpms :(
2nd to 3rd shift 5690rpms :(

They removed some torque management, but not much. Shift pressures and shift times are stock...

Looks like they did a maf tune on it and set your base PE afr about right, but enabled it at 45% throttle, It's not terrible, but it can be improved on.

They really didn't take much advantage of the rockers or firmer shifts.

What is not listed on his mods is a TEP trans with hard parts. I run stock pressures and I assume he should too. I will not know until I am in the car

IMO...it is terrible. The base pe is set about right and then you look at the pe vs time table. He is commanding about 10.7 at the shift points. The pcm commands an additional 5* timing at 10.7 and then they took out timing in the good spark. Basically the tune was not thought all the way through which makes it terrible.

ehh.. If the trans is built, you want it shifting as fast and firm as it can during WOT. That means taking the shift pressures in the upper cells to 96 and shift times to .01. There are a lot of guys that like to run this way and so do I on cars. But it's really up to the one tuning it.

I agree, but even when we installed them here, Dave specifically recommended keeping the line pressure stock because of how rought it would be...we had Brian's at 100% all the time and it would bark the tires at half throttle or even a little less. That's why I say don't mess with that there...but then again, to each their own...like you said at end.

I gotta learn tuning.

Mike really knows his ****, Its nice to have someone tune your car and they know what the **** they're doing.

I'm really disappointed at the shop that tuned my car cough cough *tune time*

yeah, i haven't seen him post.

qwikgt, wtf dude?

should be squared away soon. Mike is working on it.

on a side note, i just got my xp cam in the mail today :D
