Whining Noise?

There's some kind of whining noise coming from my car in the rear. It almost sounds like my fuel pump priming, except all the time. Could an exhaust leak make that noise? Or is my fuel pump going bad? It sounds like it's coming from the general area by the gas tank so that worried me. Or is it normal and this is a really stupid question? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
 


i THINK when a fuel pump is about to go it gets loud, but im not 100%. maybe its just soo happy to give ur engine fuel it screams at you

Haha if only. Alright I'll check. Should I just replace it...won't I pop pistons if it goes out during driving or is that just injectors?
