GT Kills

yep so true, which is why im saving for a top swap. not really that many cars in my town that are even worth it though. either they are riced hondas or they are z28s and T/As. but im moving to a bigger town to go to college so ill see what happens.

i wanted a gtp but i wasnt exactly sure what the gas mileage difference was and this was supposed to be my gas mileage car, which it is.. i averaged 27 or so coming home from the beach today. and keep it in the 22-25 range during the week.

But, i like my GT. i played with a few cars on the strip last night, ate a mustang and a prelude with fart can exhaust:th_jester:mustang guy wasnt really driving i dont think. If i really want to beat people, i can wait until my camaro 350 swap is done :th_nanana: [84 sports coupe]

If you want to be fast enough to kill a lot of rice, do a top swap, plus rockers/headers/pulley/tune ect... Or better yet, go Turbo!

No kidding you're car will go to college lookin good and come back needing a body man... 90% of people just don't give a **** and park all jankity or slam their door and are like o well. Then there are some who don't even realize they hit your car.

I hated that part of college. I tried to park in spaces that were wide or i parked in BFE and rode by bike back in forth. I had a truck then though. :th_thumbsup-wink:

True, My car has 3 nice dents on the drivers side quarter panel from stupid idiots.

Someone side swiped my girlfriends GA GT a few months back, come to find out it was a new 10' camaro. She drivers her dads old 2500 silverado now, and always parks about 3 inches away from the drivers door of the camaro. She gets pissed easily.

my dad's truck is an 04 GMC Sierra, black crew cab, Z71 package, 17" american racing wheels with bigger tires, raised a little, it's basically nicer than anything i'm going to own in the next 10 to 15 years. he offered to let me take it up to school the last week or so to try to pack more stuff in it, and i was just like "are you sure about that?"

idk anything about turbos for these cars but you would think turbo would be the better option for gt owners. or is the price too high? turbos almost the way to go anymore imo. too bad there isnt a whine. hate the sound of bov's anyway.

the price for a turbo is much like a top swap, you just have to look around for parts or make your own. if you're not in a hurry and look for good deals, it can be had cheap

you must be high on crack.

turbo + 3800 = win

a turbo 3800 hands down sounds better than any m90'd car

imo turbo an L67/32 and m90 an L36/26

i got that much. just wondering if he meant that the gtp is gonna take a mustang gt or the gp gt. cause of course it's gonna take the gp gt. i know the 2 valve setup really constricts the 4.6. i know a little about ford motors. not a whole lot, but a little bit lol

lol yeah, it's gonna take some work to take the terminator. ever had it at the track? quarter mile times or anything?

No clue without my Belt, Im powerless, Like kryptonite to superman lol

With the belt anything from 4.6L stangs to older 5.0 stangs, and LS1/LT1's i can beat unless i start spinning the tires.

There are some guys running GTP's on here with some serious mods and running 11's in the 1/4 mile, which is very respectable compared to any street car. You can spend alot of money on your GT to make it faster, but I think it's best the way it is closer to stock. It's a perfect all season commuter and touring car that is very reliable.

I have a few sports cars, a Porsche with a modded V8 and 600hp, but I knew the stock engine/drivetrain and engine could handle the increase to 600hp without suffering breakage problems; a newer bmw 5 series with a turbo system and 500hp but I also made sure that the stock engine and driveline could handle the HP increase without crapping the bed; and a toyota mr2 turbo (close to stock because I feel the transmission can't handle abuse or anything past 270hp), and these cars are all fast cars, but each do different things better than the others. If drag racing and times are the big thing for you, you could spend less by keeping your car stock, and buying an extra car that is popular with pro streeters, like a pre-owned mustang V8, or firebird with LT1 and likely a few other good cars too. Buy one below the snow belt and then rust won't be a problem.
From what I am seeing, you can't do alot of mods to a NA GT to go much faster without spending alot more cash to keep the rest of the car reliable.
