So,

I ran my car last night at HPT. The temperature was around 65* early, and high 50's later on in the night. I ran pretty consistent 14.2's at high 98 mph trap speeds. I believe one pass I had a 99mph trap. My 60' times were anywhere from 2.2 to 2.4 seconds.

Here's what is currently done:

-Pacesetter headers
-cat delete
-funnel cake intake
-3.4" pulley
-ported and polished tb and blower housing (by Reptile I believe, previous owner had it done)
-shift kit
-DHP tune

I know the tune is probably junk. The KCPMC guys know who the previous owner was and he probably had no idea how to tune the car. I know he bought a DHP tuner, however.

I'm leaning towards rockers and a better tune, but I want to run pretty consistent 13.8's and trap over a hundred. It's my daily driver, so I've been straying from the idea of methanol.

Lemme know what you think.
 


its the tune and your launch. with a ~2.0 60' time youll be in the 13s for sure.

rockers and a better tune will definitely help your cause.

Thanks. Towards the end of the night I started to get my launch dialed in. I was running anywhere from 2.1 to 2.2 60'. I was trying to get more runs in before they closed though, and the blower was heat-soaked. Launches were better, but my e.t.'s were slower.

Does anybody have similar mods that can tell me what rockers will do for my car?

Do they give you power throughout the entire rpm range? or just higher up? similar to a cam
 


get a better tune...and learn to launch it. A 1.9 60 would have netted high 13s...just get a retune.

you have way less mods than i do yet your car is 3-4 mph faster

edit- you don't notice rockers till around 4k, i have 1.9 rollers
 
I ran 14.11 Last night with my mods in my sig. I was trapping at 99.xx every run. I know the feeling of wanting to hit 13s.

I highly doubt I could get it to run any sub 2-second 60' times.

Do you know who tuned it exactly? I think I'll hit up Brian about a tune.

14.11? That's awesome for you, but somewhat depressing to me comparing mods.
 
I ran a 13.83 @ 99 with a 1.83 60 foot on bone stock Bridgestone Potenza's...which are way skinnier than the tires you have and I had nothing done to my transmission either...it was bone stock too. It's all about how you drive and who your behind. I rooted a 9 second VAMP Fox Body @ KCIR...all I had was a 3.5", DHP PCM, 1.84 Rollers, PEM's, CAI, 3" Catless DP, AL104's, and a 160*

It wasn't terrible. There weren't too many noobs driving through the water box and I hooked decently. Still spun though.

I really need new tires. So...if I were to get a good tune, and got my launch down and was running 2.1 60's, do you think I could run 13's?

Edit: Just pulled the plugs...dumbass was running those four pronged Bosch platinums. I SRSLY HATE THE PREVIOUS OWNER! Headed to the parts' store for AL104's or TR6's.
 


my buddy had the same mods in my sig except with E85 and a 3.2 with hoosier qtps and went 12.8.....so im shooting for low 13's with the same setup minus the qtps for now so i say get rockers and a good tune and you'll be well into the 13's esp with 2.0 or lower 60's
