no mufflers?

i have a 97 se the other day i was swapping my exhaust from the single to dual mufflers i had to get a coupler so i ran mycar with no mufflers or anything from the resonator back sounded pretty good i have read the resonator is not restrictive if there not could i just loose the mufflers and run strait pipes from the y splitter back? im kinda new to this v6 fuel injection stuff more of an old schooler but so far im loving these cars!

I had a straight pipe on my old monte (3.1) and it sounded OK for about 2 seconds, but after about 2 weeks my engine acted like it lost compression and finally took a big ol' poopie.

I replaced my res with a glass pack and took off the mufflers. I liked it.

thanks for the link im going to try with just the res. and no mufflers and if it is too loud then i will find some good deep tone mufflers
