Ventilation problem

Hello all, got a problem with my prix, sometimes the air blows out all the vents in the car. Just wondering if any of you had an idea where i could start?
I dont think it is the console because i can still turn on the circled ac.

is it just a trickle of air? like if you had the setting to OFF and some air blows out? or is it like no matter where you want the air to go its comming out of every vent?

like mentioned above, if the setting is set to off it will still ventilate and flow (small amount) air. that is what my 07 does. When u say it blows air are u talking lots of air or just a little and what is ur settign at, low or high, is it on window vent, floor, dash vents? what settings have u tried?

they are gonna blow air because thats just how the cars works, if you leave the setting on the hot side, you will feel a little hot air but it keeps the engine cooler. mine is always on the hot side and sometimes i will have the heat on in the summer to relieve heat in the engine bay to keep the car cooler

The air is coming out of every single vent no matter what the setting is. so the air is blowing very wink in the front, so its annoying. I am not sure if there is a fuse that is controlling the device or if there is just something else doing the controlls

yea, mine just comes out all the time even if its off, my old blazer did it, my moms trailblazer does it, im used to it

Since the air blows out of all holes when the air is turned on, I am going to rip the dash apart tomorrow and see if the mechanism that controls where the air goes is bad or see if there is a fuse somewhere.
What do you guys think?

check ur vacuum line next to your battery its a small black plastic line alota times they come apart or break it starts by the battery and runs up then along fire wall

YOU are most certainly THE MAN! I was having the same problem, read your recommendation, found the problem and it is now fixed! Thank YOU!

If you disassemble the switch be sure to put it back together the right way. I took mine apart after the knob broke and accidentally had a small plate backwards. The side that looks like a maze goes towards the vacuum lines.
