Performance gains, 1/4 times, HP Ratings, 0-60, 0-100

Ive read the "how to safely mod sticky" and ive looked at performance packages on zzp and 3800 performance. Im wondering what kind of gains i can expect from doing mods. Hp numbers, 1/4 times, 0-60

say 3.4 with headers+exhaust, 3" downpipe, cai, tune = ? hp, mid 13's, 0-60 of about 5.5 im guessing?

i just want to get an idea because im not about to drop 800$ and gain 30hp and run 14's

ive used the search but terms are either to general or too specific to find anything

i was just going to flip my car after i fixed it, but i decided to keep it instead :D

1997 Black on Black gtp, 88k, 2600$ ---YUP
ive done plugs, wires, oil change, thermostat, coolant flush, coolant elbow, valve cover gaskets, pcv, cleaned my iac, cleaned my maf, cleaned my throttle body, new coupler, new brakes all the way around (140$ pads and rotors)

ive got an exhaust leak, or the previous owner gutted the cat, cause its quite loud from the cat area, so id like to get headers, dp, and u bend delete (also cat delete depending on if its gutted or not) out of the way IF im going to mod

it all depends on the gain

everyone around here has mustangs with boltons mostly high 12's low 13's

i dont race much, but... you know... its a gtp

I would stay away from the package deals
ANd have heard a lot of bad things about the zzp programmed pcm's

DHP is your best bet for pcm through 3800performance

WIth a propperly setup 3.4 you can run into the 13's alot of it is in the tune

ssac's are gonna be your best bet for headers
Look in the for sale section people are always demodding and selling performance parts

You should be able to do a good 3.4 set up for under what your looking to spend on a package

if youre like 75% of the people on here then youll barely run 13s on a 3.4 setup if that because you cant drive.

a good 3.4in setup WITH a proper tune, is gonna give you more than 30 hp. you should b very pleased when its all said and done. you can trust this site to give you worthy information. btw the headers will come with their own downpipe so you dont have to order an extra one

Let this be a message to nick... i told you so.

And for anyone who thinks this post is useless, I agree with the current estimates presently posted.

yeah im not getting a performance package, i was just looking at posted gains, those packages are a waste anyway my intake cost me 30$ and its aluminum piping

when you say 13's are we talking low mid or high

My aeroforce says I did the quarter mile in 13.05 s at 93 MPH and a 0-60 in 4.20 seconds

BULL**** ON THAT. ****ing timed it myself... 0-60 is a high 8 second run.... Right where it should be

with a correctly put together and tuned 3.4 setup you could potentially see low(er) 13s IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. otherwise expect to do a lot of 14.1s or maybe 13.9s.

alright thanks, i know how to drive, what do you mean "0-60 of 8 seconds where ti should be" do you have a gt or something? stock 0-60 is 6.8

so i guess ill do the usual first run of mods

It means based on the way most people drive these cars they can't drive. Take it to the track right now and if you can't break 15's then you won't hit 13's on a 3.4" setup guaranteed...but hey...I only ran a 13.4 on a 3.4"

Its a GT.

This whole "you can't drive" thing can be solved with practise so don't let it bother you all that much.

Let me guess you spun the tires a **** ton.

One little chirp and i was off.:th_thumbsup-wink:

yea the launch is tricky in these cars I was just playing around behind a wharehouse doing launches Granted i have street tires right now
it takes a bit of practice to hit the sweet spot
