Installed hids and got some questions

So i just got my new hid bulbs installed, and i was wondering if it was normal to see some flickering in the light. When shinning on the garage door, each side has a spot in the light output that flickers and is not constant like the rest of the light.. it also seems to be dimmer in these spots.

Usually they flicker from being of a lower quality. I had a couple kits that did this, and yes, they were cheap kits. Try a relay kit or the resistor mod. Check the resistor mod by searching on google. My cousin tried it and said it solved some of the flicker.

Try a relay harness. That usually solves a lot of issues. You can get one from 3bspec of $15. I use one on mine and have never had any issues with my HIDs.

its probably ebcause they arent getting sufficient voltage.....mine do the same thing if i turn them on with the car off they like the alt to be on since im using stock wiring still...i have 50$ vvme.com hids and they work flawlessly....

Yup I had Xentec too.. Got rid of them as soon as I saw my cousins having problems with theirs. My cousins light was so bright when he first got it, now I can actually look into the headlight. I don't see his lasting too long since it is a cheap brand.

yea i got a xentec kit also, thought i messed up the bulbs first time installed them, which i did a little so i bought new ones, didnt do a whole lot. Still flicker and have dark spots on the light output. Would not recommend this kit.

So if im looking into buying a new kit, would you guys recommend another 35 watt kit, 55 watt kit, or 35 watt digital ballast? Im not really sure what the advantages of the digital ballast are though, anyone fill me in on this. And is 55 watt overkill?

I would most definatley get a 35 watt, they are plenty bright (or at least the set I got from vvme.com). I get flashed all the time when I have my fogs on.... It might also melt your housing depending on what you have. 55watt also washes out the color, I have heard by some that getting a 8k 55watt looks more like 4k. I dont know the difference between digital and standard so I cant say anything about that.

Also this vvme.com has so far worked flawlessly for me, it was very easy to work with.

Install a Capacitor on the factory connector. No relay required. 4700 uf 35 volt or 4700 uf 50 volt. All flicker will be gone.
Also 55 watt HID is a waste of money. There has never been or will there be in the near future a 55 watt bulb. The company is making a 55 watt ballast and running it on a 35 watt bulb, hence over driving the bulb to make it brighter and shortening the bulb life by about half.

I have personally tested about 40 different sets of HID,s and own about 15 sets of all my cars and bikes and the bottom line is stay with digital slim. the price does not matter nor who makes them. They ALL come from China. Just come boxed differently and the ballasts have a different shell.

Hope this was helpful
