i've been researching this comp g i have, and there is so much to do. i am a little perplexed as to where i should start?! i put a k-n air filter on it, and i removed the MAF sensor mesh. I owned a 1996 Pontiac Trans Am, and man do i miss that car! i now have the 2004 gtp comp g, my 2001 f-150, and my 2002 ducati monster 620sie dark. i am thinking of ordering a new MAF first. i just fixed the HUD yesterday. what a pain in the ass that was! i cracked the upper plastic piece, and before it cracked too much, i found a new one online for $42! i ripped that piece in half! I guess it is a common problem for these cars to have that little spring in there break.
i was also wondering about exhaust, i haven't seen too much info about an electric exhaust cutout? it is cheaper than doing the exhaust, and keeps the whole sleeper style going! i would love to pull up to somebody and rev on them, and then open the cutout and take off! i had one on my trans am, but that was an LT1 that had some headers to the cutout pretty much.
have any of you heard much about the cutouts? i have seen prices from like $170 up to $500?
 


Wouldn't worry about the cutout. If you want 13's, put some headers on, get some Autolite 104's, make or get an cold air intake, get a tune and maybe a 3.6 pulley and you'll be solid in the 13's with a good launch

oh04compg, i am going to get headers, i guess i was wondering if i am going to lose too much backpressure if i do a cutout? id like to hear from some people that have done this. i did it right after the cats on my 96 transam. i need to hear what it sounds like, being a v6, it might sound like ****!

im getting reprimanded for being informative in my post?! i am asking for somebodies opinion on here about something, not trying to get a whiner, such as yourself all worked up! who gives a crap that i introduced myself, and GOD forbid, asked a car question! Most of the kids on this site are that way, buddy. More and more this forum is just pouring over with guys that think they have it all figured out and for some reason are entitled to mouth off at every opportunity, even though the vast majority need hand holding to go past routine maintenance. This site came around in large part because Club Grand Prix! Your online Grand Prix & G8 resource was full of douches; at least it is filled with douches that are experts on this platform. The tables have been turning against this place ever since.

I love how you reacted to my first post. If you'd stay a while, you'd see that wasn't meant in the "douchy" fashion you interpreted as.
 
Yeah, I got where you were going with it. I guess I hadn't had my goodmorning bongload! I'm hotboxing my comp g right now at the Beverly Hilton, with the heated seats on. I checked out the safely modding the 3800 page....... Just what I was looking for.
 


I have my prescription, so there is nothing wrong with me saying that I smoke herb in my Comp G! My girfriend got a contact high last night after the bars closed. I smoked in the GTP before we had drunk back seat sex! About ten minutes into it, she said she was high! Haha! I want to go home now and build my FWI!
