figured out why my motor blew.



so just cuz the standard priced purolator couldnt handle the higher pressures the top of the line mobil 1 could, the filter must be the cause of your entire engine failure??

hmmmm lets see.... im going by what happened... purolator oil filter failed... no name oil filter failed.. mobil 1 didnt fail... ive never seen anything like this happen before... so unless u wanna come diagnose what happened dont tell me what is and isnt the cause of my motor being f*cked.

didnt try to fix it... simply tried to figure out why it was blowing oil filter gaskets out..
 
It's been a long time since this happened to me, but I have'nt run Purolater filters for years. Started a fresh engine build (SB Chrysler with all the goodies ) and broke in the motor with Purolator filter because they were on sale two for one. Ran the motor for 20 minutes to break in the cam in my driveway, went to change the oil and it had started to suck the filtration media into the engine. The other filter went into the trash. I've run nothing but Fram or Wix since that day. Just my 2 cents.

haha no sh*t

purolator is known for 2 things. quality, and customer service. if you can prove the purolator filter was the cause of the engine failure (which i dont think you can) purolator will buy you a new engine. problem solved
 
by chance is there two gaskets on there? like the old gasket got ripped off and was still there when you screwed on the new filter?

that was the first thing we checked after we got the original filter off that blew the gasket...

what happens when u run a motor with no oil? bad sh*t happens... gasket blowing out and draing 5 quarts of oil in a few seconds... what would u think? put a mobil 1 on and no gasket blew... cant get much simpler than that. was there a prob with oil pressure? i dunno... but that gasket blowing out and losing all my oil DID in fact cause my motor to be fu*cked.

nawzzzzzzz dawgggggggggg.... lol i dont think i would ever spray my car... im lost as to what caused this... doesnt matter .. junkyard picked car up today and hopefully have it back soon.
 
Warranty FTW!! Hopefully they are giving you a motor with a good blower? Didnt you just put a new coupler in it?
 
i swapped rotors out i got from u... the motor i bought didnt have the S/C on it... i PM'd ya awhile back to make sure u got my old rotors in return for the ones i got from ya but never heard nothin back.
 
Oh, yea sorry, i must have lost the pm, i get about 10 a day seriously lol. I got them, they have been stripped down and been recoated they are going in a ported supercharger im doing right now.

There was like no coating on them!! lol
 


i figured u got alotta messages... thats what carb cleaner will do to a rotor ..hey i did most of the work for ya as far as stripping them down ... lol.
