i'm currently replacing my UIM and LIM and i figured i would update some stuff on the inside. So i looked into putting 1.9 rockers in and i was wondering if i need push rods and new bolts. Now if i go with intense package deal i get rods rockers bolts.... if i go this route do i need to update valve springs, retainers? thnks for reading hope u guys can help

you need new bolts, id the the ARP reusable ones.

depending upon the ratio you may need springs and retainers.

so if i go 1.9 rockers kit from intense will the 90# springs work or 105#? same with retainers... what will work best zzp steel retainers or the modded steel?

You don't need the modded steel retainers, standard ls1 retainers will do. I'd go with 105's. They are easier on the timing chain damper

ok so ER 1.9 rockers from zzp with L76 springs and retainers from gmpartsdirect. is there ne thing to gain from installing new push rods? beside just replacing them cuz im already there!

Do you have a gtp? If you're supercharged then you dont want the ER rockers, just the regular modded rockers.

yes it is a gtp... besides the $20 difference .... what is the difference between er and modded rockers?

ER rockers have different ratio intake and exhaust rockers. you dont want that. yes, those springs/retainers will work.

woops i read that er rockers were for n/a but forgot... as i was taking in a lot of info on my car! thanx for the reminder!! so i have purchased pacesetter header, modded 1.9 rockers and L76 springs and retainers along with rocker bolt! :th_laugh-pointup:

Your full list should be:

1.9 modified rockers
L76 springs and retainers
Re-usable rocker bolts
Viton valve seals
Valve cover gaskets

Spring compressor tool
Either a compression tester with air hose attached or something to keep the valves up when replacing springs.

No need to replace pushrods or take them out, lifters should be fine also. You need "better" springs when running 1.9 rockers. At this ratio, stock springs may let the valves to float at higher rpm's.

The rear bank is going to be fun to replace the springs on, you may want to do them with the engine tilted forward or attach the bracket on the front again and ratchet it forward or whatever way you can find.

should be a beast after those mods ^ quick question though..are you really running a 3.1 pulley at the moment??:th_nervous:

actually now that i think of it i think i think my sc pulley is smaller than 3". hopefully i get my parts this weekend and i'll give an update on how it went!

you need a scanner so you know what the hell is going on with your car. its literally impossible for you to be able to run a 3.1 or smaller pulley without a ton more work.

even with new rocker and spring? Another question is that... Do the torque settings change with valve train?
