• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

ROLLS ARE FOR BAKERS...
Ok, so today my car out of nowhere decides to start idiling between 600-1000 with almost a miss and a slight knock. In the video you can't hear the knock but it sounds like it's coming from the lifter valley area. What is this??
YouTube - more problems

I know, the knock didn't show up in the video. Yes the check ses light came on after all this happened. I don't have a scanner but i'm going to take it to a buddy on monday and get him to pull the codes.

You got it!! It was a P0305 and i pulled the plug out and it was all bent to hell... What would cause that??

Sure...I ran mine on 5 pistons with the wrist pin beating the snot out of the head. Doesn't mean something is internally wrong...it is common sense though, think about it. The head of the spark plug is INSIDE the combustion chamber, how else would it get bent...unless there is something foreign flying around in there to cause the damage.

Well, i have a little rigid snake camera that we use to check ducts at work, that will fit in the spark plug hole. I will take a look at it tomorrow. Is it safe to run it like that. I mean like it sounds like it did before all this happened?

So here is what i found.

Looks destroyed to me. I was having an argument at work, what exactly causes this? I know about mods and kr but like the definition for it.

early detonation... been there done that... i drove mine for awhile with a chipped piston and it ran fine... finally shattered a piston due to me being an idiot doing a WOT run passing someone. cheapest fix is used shortblock... or complete engine swap. basically too much knock retard.

replace the plug and u might lose some of the knocking sound. check the whole front bank for bent plugs
