how to install a oil pressure sender



you have to run a wire from the oil pressure sending unit, that screws into the oil pump housing near the passenger rear of the engine bay under the car, and back into the cabin for the gauge. the sending unit can either take the place of the low oil pressure sensor or you can use a brass T to use both.

why would you keep the old one in there it only goes to a dummy light
 
some people like to do that so its still complete like it should be. i never cared and mine just hung there zip tied up.
 
will that sending unit just screw righ in place of the oil level sensor and then if it does will the light go on
 
its not for the oil level sensor, its for the oil pressure sensor. it will screw right in so long as you bought the right thread size for it. the oil pressure light will not come on unless you put a T fitting on it so you can still use both. however, the oil pressure light comes on at like 5 psi, which is too late anyway.
