Question: Header stamped ID

I called the parts store to price rebuilt heads on my 03 3.8 s/c and they have to know the stamped code on top of the headers.
I went home at lunch and found H202 and H212, but the parts stor said I'm missing a digit. Anyone?

why do you need rebuilt heads? you dont need a code. you need heads from engine code L67, if that makes a difference.

yea really the heads are the same on all of these motors depending on the series. am i right?

Are you sure they said headers and not heads? The heads have a casting number on the top of them, under the valve covers.

No, that's exactly what I was speaking about; the casting numbers under the valve covers. For some reason, all the other places can look mine up, but this particular shop needs the casting numbers, and he advised the ones I gave him don't match anything in his system.

By "under" I mean literally, you have to pull the valve covers to see them. There were two different castings for the SII L67 heads (for the cars we're dealing with, atleast). One for 97 and part of 98, and one for 98-03. The 97s had some issue with aftermarket valve springs, otherwise they're interchangeable. I have a set of heads in the garage that I can check for the actual number, but I can almost guarantee I'll forget before I get home. :(
