Troubleshooting Help! 02 GTP - DIC/ AC Issue

My DIC has been going on and off lately, no big deal right? Wrong! When the DIC goes out, I can't turn on my A/C. Flip the switch and nothing. If its night time and my DRL are on... I turn the A/C switch to 1 and the lights go off. Turn it back to off and the lights come back on.

I ordered a replacement DIC from Ed... but what else should I look at?

I would bet your ignition switch is going bad. Have Ed send one along as well.
 
DOH! Thanks Zef.... I was fearing that response... lol

So replace the ignition switch cause its affecting my DIC too? I was thinking it could be blower motor resistor, since I lost 1-4 when my DIC was off, but I normally could get 5. Until today :(

What about an ignition bypass? http://www.grandprixforums.net/ignition_bypass.php Yay or Nay?

Yay if you like wiring LOL I could never do that in my lifetime :p I say get the switch changed and if it doesn't work THEN do the bypass...just one of those things if you don't have to do it then don't ya know?
 


Ahh. Just to be short, my blower does not work on settings 1-4 bt on high. I have not noticed the DRL (daytime running lights) not working. I will check that out later. I was told to replace the resistor on the blower motor. Is this not right? Please lemme know.

Probably either the resistor or the ignition switch. But I would start with the resistor first.
 
Well I got it fixed, it was the Resistor on the Motor. Costs 28 bucks for the part and buddy at an Auto Body shop fixed it for 15 bucks, or I buy lunch. lol Thanks for the info.
 


Resistor worked for him... however... in my case it WAS the ignition switch. Replaced it and have been fine since.

Can you tell me where that resistor for the blower motor was located on your car? I can't seem to get close to finding mine.

Just a follow up: replace the resistor and the blower is working fine on all speeds. Thanks for the info...:th_thumbsup-wink:
