Painting Ideas???

I want to paint the lower front part and back part on my car. Its the grey part. Can those be removed? My car is black. Should I paint those black or silver? Im all about making my car look unique without looking too ghetto. Those pieces need repainting in a major way.

Also what about the front plate cover that says pontiac? I want to get an inlay decal for the back and paint the front the same color. I have debadged the car and just have a small GT emblem on the back bumper and one on the front grill. I want to stick with the black and silver look.

The grey part is part of the bumper. Tape it off and paint it. Silver would look good and stand out.

i actually just did this in the front lower part of the bumper in red, and all i did was to tape it off using some painters tape and some plastic bags, leaving the bumper on the car, i used jacks to jack it up and get a better angle then i sanded it down with 220 grit sandpaper and used some duplicolor auto paint i got at pepboys for $8 then a couple coats of duplicolor auto clear coat on top also for $8 and i'd go with the silver if i was you to keep with the theme
goodluck

Awesome sounds good! What about the front license plate cover, does it come off easy? Also where is a good place to get the inlay from?

Front license plate cover comes off, there are two screws that hold it on the top of the license plate cover. You really have to get down to see it.

Just paint them and see what happens. If you mess up, black always hides any imperfections.

make sure u clean the area really really well. and u should be okay. don't stand to close when spraying. u don't want runs in the paint!

just take your time, and don't rush it. if it looks good, walk away. come back when its dry, and then maybe do one last light coat!

Boosting98 is so right. That's when thing I can't keep myself from doing is putting to heavy of coats and it running.

Quite the opposite black will show all imperfections and is the most difficult color to paint!
