Oil Pan Gasket

Alright so it's been some time since i have posted on here so i thought on my first post back i would ask the question if there is any easy way to change the oil pan gasket? from what i have red previously you have to drop the front part of the sub frame or pull the motor up a little with a hoist, does this sound about correct? because i really hope that there is an easier way to fix my problem but if not then, i guess i will just go threw all those step anyways because it has to get done

alright thanks, it's been awhile since i have been under the car so let me see if i get this right. i'll have to un bolt the motor mount and then loosen the front 2 bolts on the front of the sub frame, and the tranny mount as well?

The tranny mount can stay connected IIRC. Been over a year since I have done one.

Seeing as i have close to half a quart of oil under my car right now I may be doin the pan gasket aswell I might get lucky and it may be the oil pres sensor
SOme jack off stole my jack and ramps last month so havent been able to check yet

find your oil filter and follow the piece it screws into back to the block. Right on that piece on the rear of the engine is the pressure sensor.

I support the engine form the top, and drop the entire subframe/engine cradle out of the car. That way I dont have to work around, or fight the cradle being in the way at all.

I prefer to do THAT job right the first time, unlike GM. LOL

I realize this thread is 13 months old but I think it makes sense to post here instead of starting new.

Hi; I looked at changing the oil pan gasket on an 04. Did you disconnect the lower control arms before dropping the cradle?
