FM3 Pics Thread

I am so disgusted with you Blue

How the hell did you get that R35 into 8.99 in the 1/4 mile??

I tried a million times and tuned a million different ways, and the best I got was 9.305.. What did you do dfiferently that I'm not doing??

8.92 :th_biggrin2:

I love it...actually here is how the setup goes...things I DO NOT have installed on the GT-R are race control arms, any sort of body kit, and larger rims. I do have every OTHER modification on it along with Buddy Club rims...

Tires:

F - 31.0 psi
R - 30.0 psi

Gearing:

Final Drive - 3.00
1st - 2.20
2nd - 1.51
3rd - 1.20
4th - 0.99
5th - 0.87
6th - 0.78

Alignment:

F Camber - 0.0*
R Camber - 0.0*
F Toe - 0.0*
R Toe - 0.0*
Caster Angle - 4.8*

Anti-Roll Bars...since I left them stock...no adjusting here

Springs:

F Spring Rate - 615.0 lb/in
R Spring Rate - 510.0 lb/in
F Ride Height - 4.8"
R Ride Height - 4.8"

Damping:

F Rebound - 7.0
R Rebound - 6.0
F Bump - 5.0
R Bump - 4.0

Aero...again...stock, no adjustments.

Braking:

Balance - 50%
Pressure - 101% (Or whatever you prefer...since your just going forward who cares about stopping :th_biggrin2:)

Differential:

F Accel - 100%
F Decel - 0%
R Accel - 100%
R Decel - 0%
Torque Split - 50%/50%

Oh...and pray. Your gonna need it:th_peaceout:

Took me about an hour to snag it...once i did I was running back to back to back to back 8.9xx.

Hmm will definetly give this a try when I get home from work tomorrow.

Why no race control arms? What do those do that keep the car down?

I have no body kit, except the front kit from forza that is adjustable.. So I adjusted it for speed. When I took it off I saw a decrease. I may be wrong though..

And I have stock size rims, just the lightest available which I forgot which ones.

We'll have to drag soon, once the car is complete.

Control arms are pointless and just add weight...tested it. Also the FM3 Front Bumper sucks...that would be the first thing to go on my list of stuff.

This topic reminds me of why I was playing Gran Turismo 4 so much on the PS2... And why Im waiting so hard to play GT5 on the PS3...

Yeah, it also lets you go into an advanced mode to adjust so your car as more/less on such things like under/oversteer, downforce, etc.

As it says itself, if you can tune a car, then this tool isn't for you. It's more aimed at people like me who don't know what the hell to do. I just wish there were some more options like to tick off things you don't have/want on your car or can't have (like the older muscle cars typically can't have an adjustable front bumper) or whether you want it tuned for drag, drift, handling, etc.

yea blue, I have no idea how you are running that set up and getting in the high 8's. I ran your setup and did worse then my older setup at 9.305 in the 1/4 mile. I have EVERY single upgrade except body kits and the anti roll bars. Oh I also have stock size rims... I messed around some more with my own setup and got it down to 9.205 with a decent launch and even lower with a good launch. I mean, .205 is a lot of time to shave off to get into the high 8's. I must be doing something wrong..

Using the lightest rims? What about the roll cage? For whatever reason the added weight of the roll cage increase everything on the car while adding weight. I didn't know putting a bunch of support bars inside your vehicle made it faster.

Are you using Manual w/ clutch? A manual with clutch will knock off at least 3-4 tenths off an e/t if you can shift well. Also use either the first buddy club wheel, holeshot wheels (any), or the first konig wheel. They are all the same weight and are the lightest in the game.

What to install: All engine/ power mods, brakes, springs, and drivetrain mods, weight reduction, roll cage, lightweight wheels, racing tires, and biggest available tires.

What not to install: Any body mods, heavy wheels, and the stupid anti roll bars.

The roll cage might add weight, but, the extra chasis reinforcement supports better launches, better weight transfer and grip, so yes it adds weight, and no your car isn't "faster". The accel rating goes up because you're launches will be better and make your acceleration and shifting more crisp with the added rigidity.

I am using manual w/ clutch, that's usually all I ever play with lol. And I have the lightest rim, I would know because I circled through every rim literally and all of them added weight so I think I got the right rims..

But yea.. I would have to try shifting it with what? Automatic? or just Manual?

Manual with the Clutch will give you the best gains. I'm in the top 11% for fastest cars in the game with my GT-R 9.009. bluegtp91 broke 8.999 somehow i think by luck. I have the TSW Trackstar Rims they are the same weight as the Buddy Clubs and the Konigs. I also use the widest tire possible and the racing tire compound. (Duh but putting that out there for some who don't know Forza well)

I run an 8.769 in my Datsun 510 I built and tuned myself. Top 1% in 1/4 mile and in full for R3 class. I run a mid-high 21 in full mile.

You should build one of them, a lot of fun.

And to get back on topic....Here is my S15. Someone say this car isn't sexy, I dare you. Orange Metallic and Gunmetal equals TITS

Clint...its ugly and flatchested LOL

Actually...like you already know...I'm a huge Silvia family fan...and an even bigger fan of the RB series swaps. Mine little S13 is rocking just a race exhaust, bigger IC, race fuel system, dropped, wide ass rear tires...a full Origin body kit and Volk's...a dark purple-blue ish color with metallic black wheels.

One thing that urks me about FM3...wheres the damned caliper paint section?!?!?!

Flatchested, pshhhh... Lol, same here. I can't get enough of Silvia/180/240sx, s13 and 15, the s14 style is bland. I wish they had a hatch 180sx on this game, they are so freaking sexy, especially the kouki version.

It really is lame to have no caliper paint, or window decals. Oh well.

Tell them to throw in a 97-02 GTP Coupe while they're at it!
BEFORE ANYONE ASKS, I said 97-02 instead of 03 because they DID NOT have a coupe model in 03, even though it was still the same body style. Only because I know some smartass will say something like "Why didn't you say 97-03? DUHZOMGLOL!" Just to save you the embarrassment.
