ok so i put a new battery in my car today and drove to the emissions to get it done. and it failed cuz the obdii was not ready. so i drove it around all day and after driving 85 miles and even 60 miles on the freeway i also turned off the car and let set for a couple min then drove again and its still saying not ready. is there a drive sequence i need to do to get the comp to load the settings? or how long and how much do i need to drive to get it working to pass?

lol, i like arizona :) pretty easy emissions here, just have to do a obdii check and a gas cap if its 96+

nevermind i luckly found a drive cycle on the site so i guess ill go spend my day tomorrow trying to find a road to drive 55 for 5 min and slow to 20 without hitting breaks haha

yea that would be nice. since i dont know of a road there i can go 55 for 5 mins then coast to 20 while not hitting the brakes. can i put the front end of the car on stands and do the cycle with the wheels off the ground lol. or does the motor have to have load on it?

thats the drive cycle????? usally it just needs a 100 or so miles on it after the computer was reset. just drive it around alot...

well i already put 97 miles on the car since the new battery. and im limited to how far i can go really cuz i have a 3day temp tag lol

alright so i went to vato zone and checker and had thm both scan my obdii cuz i dont trust auto zone. but autozone pulled a P0141 HO2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 2, and i do belive checker pulled a P0144 HO2S Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 3. should i go ahead and pay the 140 dollars for both parts to fix them or do i try to clear them and see if they come back?

your pcm was just reset if it would not pass emision for readyness. readyness means that the pcm was just reset and it has not had long enough (milage wise) to adjust back in.

if its showing codes, then you are probably past the readyness stage. but since the computer was reset (hence why it was in readyness mode) then if you just reset the codes, there just gonna come back.

alright. i didnt even know the odes were there cuz the car isnt throwing a check light. but i had a hunch and had them scan it anyway and thats what showed. so i dunno if i want to spend 150 bucks right now

you could maybe pull them out and scuff them up with sandpaper or something to try and clean them up some. maybe just dirty and not reading properly.
