1.9 Rocker Question

I think thats what im going to do is stick with stockers for now. The car isn't a daily driver, but it might have to be if my ol' hooptie takes a dump, so i don't want to go too crazy with it...at least until i get a new beater.

Imo that's half-assed.

There is alot of debate with 1.9's and stock springs. I went with the majority

I have run stock springs for 1.5 years. My car shifts @ 6200. I abuse it daily. I know many others running stock springs. No issues. Just my experience

As i said, there is a lot of debate and mixed stories...I just wanted to save myself the headache, if i had to tear it down again.

I run the Modified 1.9's in my car on stock springs, I was not to worried about digging into the heads more to put in new springs to rev higher. I can attest they will knock your socks off as compared to stock for sure! I have had mine on for 2 years now with stock springs and I have not had any issues with them what so ever.

As for the roller rockers, my old fear with them is the roller itself. I saw one guy at least on the ClubGP board who had a roller basically collapse on itself and ruined the rocker. I will admit it is rare for that to happen, but frankly I didnt want to take that chance.

somewhere around there. id say if you have 150k on the stock springs then id replace them with another stock set, but otherwise just slap the rockers on and run with it.

agreed ^^^ unless you can snag some rollers from zzp's black friday sale for $300!:th_peaceout: ha sorry still excited about it i think there is someone in the FS section getting rid of a set of modded rockers right now
