Hey guys, I have a 2001 Grand Prix GTP and my speedometer just stoped working while I was driving across town, they it started working again while driving (not stopped). The HUD display always works but the speedometer itself will just fall down to zero. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated..

Thanks

damn, well someone said calibrate the HUD but i've never heard of that being possible, If the both run off the speed sensor then theres something else wrong!

Its my speedo thats off, my hud was confirmed by a cops radar gun. :D

I know in most cars the speedo can be calibrated, but those two should be reading the same.

you would think...atleast its good to know the HUD is closer. As far as the OP dude, probably the same issue me and matt have...so you figure yours out let us know!

I only check my gauges every couple minutes yet I check my HUD so very often so it doesn't really bother me at all.

Did you get a ticket for 2 over?

Well since I'm in Canada... metric, so I've noticed up to a 4 km/h difference. I was doing 72 in a 50, typically the cop would have let me go at 60, some cops as high as 65 but anything higher they pretty much always pull you over.

My HUD read 72 and thats what the officer told me I was doing... Got a ticket for 10 over since it was my first ticket. :th_thumbsup-wink:

So at 72, even as much as 4 off.. that's still 68 and you said he'd pull you over for anything over 65.. so it didn't really cause you to get the ticket ;p
