How to Trace Vaccum leaks for P0171 [*]

Re: How to Trace Vaccum leaks for P0171

Okay, let me get this straight.

Toasty, the guy that did the super mod no one has ever seen before overhead console nightmare wiring thingy and got it working. Toasty the Im going to deepen the cubby hole and make it look professional. Toasty that spent all that time working on the HUD switch relocation, getting those connectors and doing all that electrical work and so on.

You're telling me you got this code, you spent the time troubleshooting it and took the time to do a write up and you found the problem and you fixed it with DUCT TAPE?

Re: How to Trace Vaccum leaks for P0171

duct tape is teh b0mb!!!!

why spend $$ when you dont have to?

Re: How to Trace Vaccum leaks for P0171

Oh my, I can see it now. GM ousted by the Duct Tape Motor Company.

naw, not really...

just so happened that it fixed my issue this time, so it's a good fix.

a whole car would be hard... doubt one could see through duct tape windows. --- unless you get the clear duct tape i suppose

Re: How to Trace Vaccum leaks for P0171

Thnk you for this write up Toasty. My car tripped this code twice yesterday and I immediately thought the worst when it said "Lean condition - Bank 1". Wouldn't have even thought of vacuum leak if it weren't for this write up.

Somehow I had pulled the vac line loose off the center of the connector on the top of the supercharger when I was replacing the T fitting on my boost gauge tubing. Never even noticed, but I saw it immediately when I opened the hood to look for a vac leak.

Thanks again.
