Whatever. I've got 233,000+ on my '98 and it looks fine. You're confusing the GM W-Body with Japanese crap which doesn't hold up to Midwestern winters.Unless you get it undercoated, not going to last really.

What'd be impressive is if someone had a car that has been through north eastern or a Canadian winter every year and still 200K and going.

I bought my GTP from a guy in NY and it was his DD. And since then, it has been my DD. I drive it through the snow, salt, etc and it is holding up just fine. No real rust issues. 225k miles.
Pshh, 280k on the Chassis and trans of my 2000 SE. Been through 2 motors though (which is odd considering you'd think the trans would go haha) 1 because of a bad oil level sensor (motor seized) 2 because of a shotty rebuild. I did numero 3 (L67) Routine maintainance and you should be fine.
You are blaming blow a motor on a bad oil level sensor? Seems to me like you just didn't check the oil.
Wasn't my car at the time. I do routine maintainance on both cars myself, but at the time I was only 14 years old and wasn't in the least bit interested in cars
