Just got a new intake but there is no place to plug in my MAF.... Its just tubing with a filter what should I do ?

Unhook the stock piping before the MAF sensor (huge black thingy in the middle of your intake tube with a plug) and take out the stock airbox and install new piping with huge filter.

Done.
 
Yah my bad. I didnt take it apart to look at it before I asked questions. All done and fantastic whine, HOWEVER i do notice a problem. It sounds like at mid throttle I can hear my rockers/lifters ticking away. Its only about 2700-3000+ RPM any ideas what that is? The sound wasnt there before the airbox came off
 


So your saying its normal to hear a bit of ticking? I dont hear any at idle so Im thinking its ok.
 
its probably the lifters. mine does the same thing. got even louder with the headers.

hopefully when i change my heads, ill have some quite lifters to put in there too
 
Only thing quieter than stock is new stock lifters...preferably LS7 ones...then again...all of them are basically the same anyways.
 


Yah I plan on doing a vavletrain job within 8 months just depends on when I get the exhaust and IC. One more question bout the intake..... I just got a crappy setup off ebay and its just a pipe with filter... Installed ok but the flexible piece (stock) from the TB to the Plastic piece with the sensor is all squished and not aligned straight. Will this affect the HP gain that I would receive from the CAI? I would assume yes since there is less air flowing into the intake.
 
i dont know how you guys think that lifters in these cars go bad that easily. they are god damn tanks.
 
obviously. mine have been ticking away for 40,000 miles. that or either i got some loud ass cycleing injectors. its gotten louder over time tho
 
these cars tick off the assembly line.

stock lifters should last 100,000 easily. I just replaced mine at 126k
