First off, no one come in here and clog my thread, saying how bad the 3800 sounds, and to leave the exhaust alone.

I have an slp catback now and im ordering a set of headers, and i really don't want to run a cat. For you guys that have a catless dp and aftermarket muffs, do you get pulled over alot? There is a big problem in my town with cops giving away "loud exhaust" tickets.
 


hell no im running stock cat back and headers with no cat.....makes it a lil bit louder but its not much the only diff is the smell....you wont get pulled over for it but it smells strong dont leave your car on in the garage with the door open you cant get away with that anymore :)

i dont have a cat or resonator, just stock mufflers. yeah its louder then normal but its not that big of a difference. its definitely nothing that will get me pulled over. i like how it sounds. lots of people (with weak-ass ears) complain about a "drone" sound with no resonator but it doesnt bother me. hell my stock stereo on just the stock front speakers is louder then my exhaust at WOT. if you want drone ill give you a ride in my 81 fairmont with no muffler
 


Its seems louder than it really is. Inside the car it sounds like you have a loud ass exhaust that everyone can hear a mile away, but when you are outside the car its not that loud. What i usually do if i see cops is just take it easy and slowly accelerate and they dont mess with me. Honestly, the only ones i see them mess with is the guys with the obvious fart cans on the back of their hondas.
 
Idk if mine's loud, but it's alot louder than stock for sure. Cops look at me when I drive by now, but they don't come after me or anything.

I'm trying to decide if my next mod should be headers or an intercooler.

The gains may be even when you think of running an intercooler with little exhaust mods. Headers should be a first...
 
Just do it my way...works wonders...plus you get to drive it with open headers on the way to the exhaust shop :p
