best thing you can try to do to fix it yourself is remove the board, take the heatsinks off the cpu and gpu and cover all plastic parts and capacitors that you can, lay the board flat and go over it evenly with a heatgun, let cool then flip it over and heat the other side. reinstall the heatsinks with a good thermal paste such as arctic silver. reuse the x clamps
 


I just bought my boyfriend the Xbox 360 Elite with 120 mem... def don't wanna be hearing about them breaking a lot lol. I can't afford to get him another one anytime soon.
 


Alright, I am gonna go ahead and admit it. All you guys are quite talented. I bet theres nothing ya'all can't do, your minds are roaring with ideas. So heres what I need, who knows if its possible to install a HUD in a vehicle that wasn't equiped with it from the factory. I saw some Pics of a HUD on a BMW I know some Grand Prixs have'em. So if it's possible where do ya get the HUD, whats the cost, and whats involved in the installation. Can just about anyone install it, or do I need to call on one of you Poindexters, lol. I am just kinda curious and I know anyone of you guys probably would be able to tell me something.

they break too. Just not as often it seems from what I see go through this place...so you may be in luck lol

Terrible Idea, don't do the stupid screw trick. It's a temporary fix, I know this because I mod xbox's (the legit way not so you can't go on live) and fixing RROD is easy as pie, take apart your box heat gun the paste and clean it all off (careful what you use) get some real thermal paste and apply gently.

PS. Having any game you want anytime is amazing, and so is having them before they come out :th_mischievious:

the best way to fix a RROD is throw it to the fireplace, light up, go to gamestop and buy a ps3, bluray dvd/game player, free online gaming, bluetooth controllers, like 10times better graphics, resolution, sound, and i could go all day.

Not a microsoft hater but the xbox just has like.. 4 good games exclusivly for the xbox.. halo and cant think of the others..

It's all in preference and 10x better graphics? WTF if you want graphics NOT gameplay then go to the cpu (not saying cpu doesn't have good gameplay trying to make a point).

well if you bought it from best buy your good to go. there insurance plan is boss. if its broken heres a quick rundown of what you do.
walk inside. place ****ty piece of garbage on table. clerk says may i help you. you say: its broke. you get a new one for free.
they dont ask questions either lol you could literraly walk it in with a hammer stuck in it and just be like uhhh its broke and theyll give you a new one. for 50 bucks its an amazing deal
 
I am posting under my dads acct here. I have a question about my scrapbox. I'll buy a new game go home within a week it gets a circle burnt all around the disc. Makes the game unplayable. Is there a fix for this other than buying a PS3?
