Torque Converter lcokup-stuck on

TorqueAutoMotiv

donated to get this wow
This morning on my way to school take a corner doing around 15 - 20mph the torque converter locked up and the car shifted from 1st into nd it acted like this for a good couple miles then quit.

It also popped 2 codes p0742 tc stuck on lock up
and p1811 too long to shift or something like that

Hasnt done it since this am it was a little cold out 50ish but i let the car warm up so no clue

Any one else have this problem and or any insight

I am in my trans class so may be time to rebuild and put in a new tc

The info page on my website explains this problem a little bit and will let you know what is likely going on. P0742 almost always means replacing the torque converter and rebuilding the trans or as a minimum upgrade or replace the valve body and channel plate.

thanks yea I read the page after i posted this
I was already planing on buying a built trans from you after my build maybe it will be sooner now
You will be getting an email in the next few days...

I mean the cars got 185k on it and im thinking thats pretty good for a trans on a blown car lol no worries

Mine was doing this, and upon disassembly/inspection, found that the tcc apply valve and control valve were sticking, hard to slide, and especially releasing since they are just spring return.

yea with almost 200k on motor and trans its just time to replace tc and trans and be done with it
Im may rebuild pending instructors advice

Just rebuilt mine again, for the second time. Not really a whole rebuild, just had to replace the final drive, but everything has to come out for that. The final drive just chewed itself up for no reason. Oh well its running good now.
