Ton of kr

Hi all,
I have a 2005 GP that was a base model that I put in the L32. I have a overkill pcm,SLP cat back,Wizaird,MSD,GEN V,AL 104's,ZZP Shift kit,3.5,Powerlog. I am getting a ton of KR around 4500 rpm's. The car seems to stop gaining rpm's at that point and I can hear what sounds to be the rockers "clattering",poss valve float though I have never heard it so I am not sure. Car has plenty of power up untill that point. I let it shift and then get back into it and its fine until 4500 again then the same thing. Not sure if a bad cat can do this because I hear what sounds to be the crap inside the cat rattling when I give it some gas. Any help would be great. Thank you. BY THE WAY I AM NEW TO TUNING

i dont see your downpipe in there? got a 3" downpipe? that is the MOST restrictive part of the exhaust.

if you hear "pop corn popping", that is your car knocking.

a) your running way too low on your A/F ratio. that needs to be in the mid 11s when youre WOT.

b) you need more mod work to be running that 3.5 on the high compression. im surprised youre only knocking that much. you see how youre making 14 pounds of boost on a 3.5? i make barely 9 pounds of boost on a 3.4 pulley. MORE FLOW MODS.

just go ahead and take your blower belt off until you can afford some more parts.

Your inj. pw hit 27.

Inj. max out at 20~22pw.

Your pcm is commanding the A/F to go rich probably because they are maxing out.

Your fuel trims are also locking in at -4 which means its giving the car more fuel before you even go into PE, you want them to lock in at 0.

Your looking at a fueling issue, you should not be maxing out inj. on a 3.5" pulley at all. It is wierd because they go from 2-5 then jump to static(20+)

How do I get the AF ratio where it needs to be? this has happened with the 3.5,3.6, and 3.8 pulley also. I have a 3" DP i have to weld up and put in too. Also it is not topswapped it is the entire L32 engine I put in

Any idea on what to change with the injectors? I sent will at overkill the scans also so he can mabey tell me where to go. Thanks

You used the injectors off of the supercharged engine, right? I would imagine the N/A injectors would be too small, which could be part of the issue.

just for your information and anyone else that reads this, the injector pulse width on the 04+ cars are skewed. they arent maxing out at 21.xx like ours do.

here, read this link:

Fuel

you MIGHT be running static, but thats because something else is wrong. you should be well off with a 3.5 and stock injectors. once you lean it out you should be able to see your IPW come way down.

i still think your biggest problem right now is that you dont have any exhaust work. that downpipe is super important on our cars.

injectors are from a GTP and I am going to put the 3" DP on as soon as I get back from vacation. Thanks for everyone's time and help I appreciate it all

Well since you ain't got a downpipe on a high comp boosted car...IMO you should be running a 3.8" WITH the downpipe.

Thanks Bio, I hate these 04+ cars. After reading that still it says its 30% above actual IPW, so like you said, he could still be turning the inj. to static, which makes you wonder if its a fueling issue, but the largest issue now is the dp size...

I think we need a better scan, you seem to be going from 20% throttle to 100% in a second... go slow and gently roll into it. As soon as you hit 100% the commanded A/F ratio goes to the 10's... Can you send me your .bin file - [email protected] and I'll look it over as well.
