well my buddy picked up an 06 accord ex v6 6spd and the smack talking has started. from what i know he has 244 hp 211 ft, aem cold air and greddy cat back. i have a 97 gtp slp headers, 3in exhaust, open cone intake, stock pully plus a little slipage on the tranny from a stop, seeing as i dont want to spend anymore money do you think i could take him?

I could visit overkill get tuned and a 3.4 and maybe an increase in tranny line pressure will get rid of the slippage but dont really want to right now but if he beats me i will.

also when this race goes down it will be video taped somehow hopefully not by cellphone.
 


Yeah he might have a chance up top but off the line your car is all torque lol. Im gonna say no problem with this one. Just make sure to really make him eat his words:th_biggrin2:
 
i work at a honda dealership so i am very familiar with these cars...dont underestimate him the 6spd has plenty of go...if ur trans is slipping from a dig the do a roll nd u should take him...i think u will win but it would be close...i have been wanting to race a v6 accord for a while now but cant seem to talk a salesperson into taking one nd racing me :P
 
I've driven those cars, I test drove a few when I was looking for a car before I drove the GTP. It really doesn't have a whole lot up top like you'd think. It doesn't pull like the GTP...........the 6 speed is nice though.
 


Even a stock GTP should take an accord. Should get the tune anyway though, will make your tranny last alot longer.
 
3.0 or 3.2? thought they were 3.0 and tl's had 3.2s. dont matter i beat a tl in my gtp, i just have a fwi and ubend delete

oh and i cant launch to good either.

not dogging on honda either, i love the new accord coupe, especially in that nice blue they come with
 
vtec is an awesome technology. I'm an american car fan, but have always had a lot of respect for a NON RICE quality built V-Tec engine. still think you'll win tho :D

the tl? it had to be an 06-07, i know those cars because i pay attention to the headlights, the newer ones have fogs same as tsx 04-05 had clear lense projectors no fogs. 06 or 07 they got fogs with fresnel lenses. it was just one of those i want that lane days lol. we both went at it til bout 70 then i backed off because my street was coming up it was funny she passed by and honked the horn so i shot a bird she probally couldnt see it but she'll be ok.
