Being a Garlock really has nothing to do with it. In this case even a OEM gasket can't seal unless things are clean and torqued correctly. If the gasket is torn someplace that could also cause the problem. All intercoolers are notorious for not being true-flat surfaces, and usually you end up using silicone and double gaskets just to get them to seal. If you are running a breather on the valve cover, then you won't have any vacuum in the crank case, which can also cause a squeal and make it stumble at idle.

Carb cleaner may help locate the problem by spraying it around the base of the blower and the intercooler. Spray all joints that have vacuum on them, double check and triple check everything.

Alright so i took the supercharger back off again and swapped both top and bottom Supercharger gaskets with new felpro ones and still no fix. i have a bad leak coming from my thermostat housing and that just had a new thermostat and the o-ring that goes in it. Ive bled the system using the gold set screw that is on top.

Silverstreak: Thanks for the vid. Thats exactly what the squealing sounds like but not constant.

Reptile: Should i be running a breather with this setup? I am running one but should i not be is basically what im asking?
 


take the oil cap off when the car is running and put your hand over it. if it sucks your hand then your PCV is blocked. the easy fix to that is to run a breather, but then youre intentionally creating a vacuum leak. this isnt the best solution.

i thought that logan redid the cores so that it doesnt block the PCV anymore? if its still blocked then youre going to have to make an external PCV setup. youd need to drill a hole in the front valve cover, plumb a hose into it and then attach it to a catch can so you dont get oil going through the tube and then plumb the other end of the tube to somewhere behind the throttle plate.
 
your PCV is blocked. did you put the core on the right way? does the PCV hole line up right? did you miss a hole in the gasket?

an EASY fix is a breather on the oil cap, but like i said that is intentionally introducing a vacuum leak. you need to figure out a way to make it work.
 


What do u mean behind the throttle plate. like drill a hole by where the throttle body bolts to the supercharger housing? And from what im understanding mine did not come with the revised PCV thing he did.
 
Yes i put it on right. This core doesnt have the PCV function so ya. When i pull the supercharger back off in a little bit ill be sure to post pics so u guys have a better picture of what im saying instead of me just telling u bout it.
 
yeah, the good way to do it would be a throttle body spacer. you can run a breather for now or just constantly take your oil cap on and off. if you let the PCV go without functioning well youll end up blowing seals internally because of the excess pressure. let me find a thread for you about an external PCV setup.
 
Yeah, you can't have unmetered air running into the system...if your pcv system is blocked then that is the problem.....so when you take the oil cap off, does the whine go away and the engine level out?
 


Alright so can anybody give me a straight design? lol cause it seems like none of them have a straight way of it. its like either "i think" or "i dont know"
 
research it a little on google or something. if you read enough about it then youll come up with a design that you like and can do on your own.

I'm only asking this question because I already have my ported LIM from Reptile. I've been pondering how to run a PCV setup with an IC'd car. My 3400 has a MAF that is separate from the TB.

Basically, there is a tube after the MAF but before the TB that feeds fresh air to the rear VC. And there is a tube that sits behind the throttle body that pulls crankcase fumes from the front VC.

If I use a TB spacer on my top swap and tap it and install a barb fitting, I can use that as my vent right? How do I go about getting metered fresh air into the rear cover?

Sounds like more of a headache than it's worth to me. I wonder if I can just get ZZP to machine the LIM to go with their IC core.
