What's up people? Wantin to find out if anyone is from the kansas city area. I'm from Lenexa personally. If I can find enough people in the area I would like to set up a car meet or maybe a track day at kcir. Let me know who ya r where ur from and what u got. Thank

Yeah I know but not a lot of people responded. I dunno. Just wanted to get some people together for a small show/hangout

That's what I'm talkin bout. A drag day at kcir would be cool. How sweet would it be if a buttload of w-bodies rolled in and took over the place

Totally! One of my buddies wants to race me anyway. He got an 07 G6 about a year ago and wants to see how the coupe runs against my 4 door. I'm interested to see just how good of a job this seeming family car can run. I'm down when we can get this done!

Well right on. I say if I can get enough of ya to sign up then let's set a day when we can go to kcir and fawk some ****e up

It's been done Mick...go to KCPMC and look in the Racing and Performance pics...we used to have track meets all the time...

im sure it has been done, but thats okay. i like goin fast and i know other people do too. id go anyway even if nobody went with me. hell thats the reason why i tried to get you to go last time, cuz i figured fellow gtp owners could hang out and enjoy each others company

He's not saying you had/have a "bad" idea - just that you should check out the local board. "Get togethers" happen quite frequently - although there haven't been many track days this year. There will be more once summer is over and temps come down. I for one, am a huge loser, and don't make it to hardly any of the get togethers...but I'm hoping to change that. ;)

I'd be up for it. Maybe we can just have our own little group show up to another event.

Mick here is a idea...just get on the KCIR website and see what days are friday night test-n-tune or wed nights and try a poll and put up dates on KCPMC and that normally helps so people will post up what day is good for them... ;) I'm game for whatever.

I am from Wichita myself.

You guys who have not yet, should join the "local" forum as well.

Kansas City Pontiac Motorsports Club - Home

Keep up on things were doing in your area, and outside it that are club related. We do have our own Wichita section, as well as a Topeka section.

This goes for you Chris, SDGTP99, been trying to catch up with you, and invite you to join. Your a hard guy to track down. But my older brother who lives out in Goddard sees ya all the time, and he loves your car! I saw it at Automobilia,

and I have to say its pretty damn nice as well. You have to join us!

Heheheh IDK how I got the car to Automobilia. The motor was busted @ the track the night b4. I do still live in Goddard where my car currently collects dust. Do I know your brother if he see's me all the time? I think I saw your car @ Automobilia last year. Hit me up sometime.

Na, I dont think you know my brother, he just sees your car, and always tells me about it cause he knows I am into them.

Ya few of us went to Automobilia last year. Friend Jeremy with a black GTP with purple accents, and friend Jim with his red ZO6, and friend Mike with his blue ZO6 and myself.

We used to have a LOT who went for one of our little get together's we used to put on...5 years ago,

YouTube - KCCGP Summer Showdown 2004

Drag racing, cause we reserved the whole track, (AnimuL made a special appearance that day with the new prototype Whipple kit I remember) Then we had the Automobilia car show, and the last day, a large picnic in the park.

but with everything else, time changes as well.

So today I started to take the old busted motor apart and out of my car. Got all the fluids drained. Took off: the s/c, fuel logs, strut mounts, a/c compressor, unbolted brake fluid and buncha other things came off too. Still need to finish labeling the wiring harness so I can take it off. Then take off the tranny lines. I can pull the motor after that. This is a Messy messy job that I don't ever wanna have to do again. I'm excited to get it all done. = ]

How are you planning on doing this?

Sounds to me like your dropping everything engine and tranny out the bottom of the car. :th_scratchhead:

I have always pulled my engines out the top,

and if the tranny needs to go, then the engine gets supported, and the tranny gets dropped out the bottom.

More work to drop the engine out than it is to pull it up on out. :th_thumb-up:

You are right. My dad & I tried pulling the motor out through the top last night. Had a block supporting the transaxle & the chain hoist holding the motor. We got all the wiring harness out of the way & all the bolts undone other parts in the way were also removed. we couldn't get the motor and transaxle to seperate. Dad thinks its stuck on real good. So the motor is still in the car & I'm thinking we may have missed a bolt somewhere, but idk.
