Quick Question

Hey, I just joined the site, but I've referred to the site many times and you guys are awesome.

I have a quick question for you guys. Im gonna get an overkill pcm, but I was looking at the K&N cai or the home made fwi. Would either of those greatly affect the engine if I order a pcm for a stock car? Or should I wait until I install which ever intake and then get the pcm?

And how hard is it to install different exhaust tips?

Thanks guys

Taking off the stock exhaust tips are a b*tch. Have a exhaust shop do it. As for mods...Read the "Safely Modding Your 3800 Powered Car" that I wrote in the general tech section ;)

^x2 your thread needs to be a super sticky that everyone has to read to join. Not trying to bash you on your ? baker. Just a lot of the same ?'s

Yeah, I read the modding your car thread and it was so much help. But I think I worded my question wrong. I just need to know if the k&n intake makes that much difference in the tuning of the pcm. If I get the pcm tuned for a stock gt and then buy the air filter later, will I need to send back the pcm for a re-tune?
And thanks for the advice about the exhaust tips. You probably saved me a bunch of trouble because I was about to try myself.

Honestly...I'd wait on the tune...they are great but unles you have something to go with it...its pointless...like have a bun and ketchup with no hot dog...follow? LOL

I'd make your own intake or get a TDC Fenderwell...the K&N is junk compared to other intakes. Get a 2.5" or 3" Catted Downpipe with the U-Bend Delete, a 180* Thermostat, Autolite 605 Spark Plugs...and then maybe a HV3 Upper Insert and Ported Throttle Body...then tune it ;)

Yeah, I was looking at the TDC Fenderwell and Im probably just gonna buy that and wait for a tune. I don't really have much money, but I plan on doing pretty much everything you said. I guess it doesn't make much sense to get a tune for a stock car.

Thanks

And the good thing is they are on sale :)
