S&S Header Install

I just picked up a set of used S&S headers. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice for me.
So I take it these need a doughnut gasket correct? Where should I get one?
Also, as far as the rear header, what all are people needing to remove to drop these particular ones in? Am I gonna need a trans dipstick from zzp?
Any input wold be much appreciated. Thanks.

id get ahold of S&S for the donut gasket. they are really easy to install. pull your EGR and get the motor as far forward as you can with the dogbones out to put the rear header in. the rest is a snap.

I guess my biggest concern was the trans dipstick, and any other objects that might be in the way. Also I noticed that one of the flanges was a little bent. One of the crossover ears is kinda bent inward implying over tightening.

the trans dipstick is a little funny. it has a hole at on a flange that gets bolted to the transmission, but i hogged out that hole so it was a slot instead. i then put a couple washers on that bolt so i could move around the dipstick and then tighten it down out of the way of the headers.

Interesting. Is that what people are doing then? I didnt really want to buy a prebent one from zzp. I would like to keep the cost down if possible.

I removed the Trans dipstick and slid my rear header right in and bolted it back in and it has good clearance. Mine are SSAC though

Yeah each header has it's downsides...Pacesetter's leak, TOG's are a PITA, SLP's tick like crazy...you get the idea...

Does anyone know of a place that I could get a new doughnut gasket from besides S&S? I called them and they said that it was 25 bucks. Personally I thought that was a little on the expensive side. Any suggestions?

I went to a local exhaust shop down the street from my house and picked one up for five bucks. I am looking forward to the install of these. All I need now is an o2 extension harness and I am all set. I cant wait.

I was going to, but I relocated the sensor pretty far away. Plus I kinda like the idea of wetherpack sealed harnesses. Also Caspers is not far from my house.
