what the american g8 should have looked like :)

Wow. That's nice. Did you guy's hear? 6 piston calipers? Man!

That's nice. All the good stuff is across the ocean man. They need to start sending it our way, LOL!

And you wonder how pontiac failed in the U.S.

I would like to hear how Pontiac failed in your terms? Are you saying they should have this car, in the US? Or are you saying its a gas guzzling coal hog with hopes of redeeming value?

I personally think the G8 was a great success in its limited time. It blended a fine line between performance and luxury. Look at the high end MB's, Audi's and others with similar specs and you are going to find their gas/MPG are roughly the same. But with the Pontiac, you get to only pay a 1/3 of the sticker of those other brands, how is that a failure?

Seriously.

Well the G8 GXP is close to what that car is. It might only have 4 piston calipers, and the same rims, but in the 19" flavor, and a little bit bigger V8, but it is essentually the same car as that.

I agree. I also PERSONALLY feel this way about the GTO.

But that's just me. I really liked both of those cars and would hae eventually picked one up at some time or another.

The problem I am having is when all these new trucks and cars come out they just look ugly. I mean come on...... I know you guy's have seen the new chevy and ford trucks. Just plain ugly. And they will NOT grow on me like the 04 body style has.

But over all I like the 04- the best.

Now this my friend is where I have to happily disagree with you. I still have yet to get use to the 04+ styling. And its been what 5 years now since it was introduce, and I still can't wrap my head around it. The 04+ GXP I do like for some odd reason, I have no real reason why I do, I just do, but the rest.......its almost generic as compared to the 97-03 models. Plus there is a lot more configurability that cames with 97-03 GPs, externally speaking mind you.

With the 04+ you are mired to one aftermarket hood and fin for the rear, while the 97-03's have a TON of different choices to choose from. I do admit I love the interior of the 04+ though. Its a lot more thoughtout and refined, of course that is gonna happen as time moves on though when a car matures.

;)

speaking of these overseas vehicles. has anyone heard of these ford FPV's in australia!?!?! they all hav 5.4 liter boss engines in them. i want one.... and of course the one i want is called the GT-P!!! too bad its 60000 then i would have to get it here somehow...all of them are pretty sick. theres something about the look that gets me, i love it

No no no. I was talking about the 04 and down body style of the chevy and GMC trucks. I agree with what you saying about the grand prix's. I like the 97-03's the best also.

I was just throwing anothe car make into the scene. And how things are changing and such style wise.

I gues it's like your dad and him saying. Yeah...I like those 57 chevy's. And were like huh?

The point I was trying to make is I do like some of the new designs some cars are comming out with now. Such as the GTO and GXP. And there are some that have grown on me such as the 04 style chevy and GMC trucks.

But the new chevy and GMC and ford trucks are just fugly to me. I think that is where most of the car manafactures are messing up at. Looks. Not so much performance wise. But that's just my opinion.

I liked the clean look of the GTO and GXP. And don't know many who don't. I can even say the 97-03 grand prix's look very clean and siple body styling wise. And that is one of the main reasons why I like them so much.

No I meant that I don't know how pontiac was thrown aside with cars like that and the potential. Im only jealous of the aussies because they had the gto before us and they are making some nice g8's or whatever the call them at holden. I tell people at work all the time to look at g8's for new cars but they think of the g5's or g6's and never heard of the g8. Its a shame that a car like that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

The G8 was said to be the Best handling car currently for sale in america by a few reputable car journalist.

Hell the GTO was an awesome car and its was a monaro.
