And you wonder how pontiac failed in the U.S.
That's nice. All the good stuff is across the ocean man. They need to start sending it our way, LOL!
I personally think the G8 was a great success in its limited time.
But over all I like the 04- the best.
Well the G8 GXP is close to what that car is. It might only have 4 piston calipers, and the same rims, but in the 19" flavor, and a little bit bigger V8, but it is essentually the same car as that.
Now this my friend is where I have to happily disagree with you. I still have yet to get use to the 04+ styling. And its been what 5 years now since it was introduce, and I still can't wrap my head around it. The 04+ GXP I do like for some odd reason, I have no real reason why I do, I just do, but the rest.......its almost generic as compared to the 97-03 models. Plus there is a lot more configurability that cames with 97-03 GPs, externally speaking mind you.
With the 04+ you are mired to one aftermarket hood and fin for the rear, while the 97-03's have a TON of different choices to choose from. I do admit I love the interior of the 04+ though. Its a lot more thoughtout and refined, of course that is gonna happen as time moves on though when a car matures.

I would like to hear how Pontiac failed in your terms? Are you saying they should have this car, in the US? Or are you saying its a gas guzzling coal hog with hopes of redeeming value?
I personally think the G8 was a great success in its limited time. It blended a fine line between performance and luxury. Look at the high end MB's, Audi's and others with similar specs and you are going to find their gas/MPG are roughly the same. But with the Pontiac, you get to only pay a 1/3 of the sticker of those other brands, how is that a failure?
Seriously.
I just want the Brake Calipers that say LS7. Man that would really throw some people off with my GXP =)
