• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Finally modding! (pics)

Well the first problem we ran into while installing the 4" FWI was the massive coolant tank of the 1998 grand prix. I'd completely forgotten about how that gets in the way, and didn't want to wait for PFYC to ship the 99+ tank, so off to the junk yard loking for a 99+ GP. Just our luck that they have every car imaginable there, but only 2 GPs, one had an engine fire and was destroyed, and someone already took the engine out of the second! So we searched the junkyard looking for something that would fit, and eventually ripped a tank off some toyota and rigged it onto the gp, (yes, it's screwed on and secured, its not just sitting there). What do youguys think? :o

After that was finally out of the way, we cut into the the fenderwell and put the intake together. All that was left then was extending the wires on the air flow sensor and hooking up the PCM (which is just laying there now...but that seems to be what everyone on here does). This was probably the longest intake install ever because of the damn tank, but it was well worth it, it sounds amazing and it's running great. :th_thumbsup-wink:

that PCM aint goin anywhere..

but as far as the coolant overflow, you should look for a 99+ one that sits over by the alternator.

Yup, PCM aint moving...mine hasn't gone anywhere and I drive like an idiot.

Nope...no medal.

if you want a tank i can get you one for $35/shipped, although im sure you could probably buy one cheaper.

Can't you just order one right from GM for like $19+ tax?

Look at the bold at the top and bottom of the post...I gave you credit :p

Ha yeah we mustve opened half the hoods in that yard before we finally found one that could work.

idk what they run from gm. zzp wants 40 plus 11 shipping. i called the local yard and they want 15, plus 15 to ship (kinda big) and 5 for gas/handling. if you can get it from the dealer, thats your best bet.

i got mine from a mc (overflow tank). it will have mounting holes already in the body to fasten it down correctly. mine is a 98 gtp. take that cover off the engine! feeeell the power.....sseeeee the power:th_biggrin2:

Maybe, either that or a topswap. Next up though is some exhaust work (since mine is starting to go anyway, why not) and a tune. Joe & I are trying to find someone local with an hptuners but if not I guess its off to overkill.
