Gen 3 to Gen 5 supercharger swap on L67 Help

Im doing a supercharger swap on my 2000 Grand Prix GTP. Im going from a gen 3 to a gen 5. I have the Gen5 supercharger and Gen5 LIM and gen5 to L67 TB adaptor on the way from ZZP and need to know what all else i need to do so. Thank you.
 


if you have the blower, lim, and TB adapter then nothing. just swap everything out with new gaskets and youre good to go.

except for some vacuum tree stuff that i dont know about..
 
alright cool. I appreciate it. does anybody else know about the vacuum tree stuff that bio248 is talking about? will i have to have addition PCM tuning for this? can i run a smaller pulley than a 3.4 on it? my mods for my car so far are, ZZP fuel rail, ZZP MPS w/3.4 on Gen 3 supercharger, u-bend delete, no cat, Pacesetter cat-back, ZZP 1.0 PCM, CAI, ZZP 10.3mm wires, new inectors, A/F gauge, Dual PT Interceptor Scan Gauges. is that enough supporting mods to run a smaller SC pulley on my gen 5 is basically what im asking or is that gonna cause too much KR?
 
You need to remove the evap solenoid and make or buy a block-off plate. Unless there is a barb in the throttle body adapter to run your pcv vacume line you can either block off your pcv and run a breather or tap into the adapter plate and run your pcv vacume line into it that way. There is risk when it comes to running a breather such as running into a possible lean condition.

^the block-off plate I made for the evap solenoid, i used aluminum and anerobic gasket maker then bolted it in place of the solenoid.
 


Really? man that would have been nice. haha dang. why so low of a price TDCRacing? and as to 99prixgt thank u so much for your help. i know ill be on here alot trying to figure out what all i need to know about the gen 5.and i apprepiate everyone elses help as well. What about the mods on my car and running with a little smaller pulley? and also what about P&P? Can i also do the egr fill with the epoxy thing that was in the talk about filling the egr and slits in the supercharger housing?
 
ZZP PCM = Epic fail. Toss that thing in a dumpster. And you don't have a downpipe? With those mods MAYBE a 3.6". I say a 3.8" to be safe.
 
Whats Epic fail? its a stock downpipe but is cut off at after the second bend and was welded with a tube all the way back bolting up to the rest of the exhaust. well i cant necessarily throw my only pcm in the garbage. so instead why dont u just lend me some helpful hints and turn me into the right direction.
 


What he is trying to say is ZZP sucks. Especially when it comes to their PCM's. And I'm saying it too.


You can try intense for their PCM's. I have never heard anything bad about them. Can't say that for anyone else who is doing them right now.

Yup...that is why I said ZZP = EPIC FAIL...not your downpipe. Read before posting. I lost a motor to that thing and trying to help you out. I did point you in the right direction. You just need to take the necessary steps to the garbage. As for the downpipe it is just whatever floats your boat. 3" Catless DP IMO or Headers. Headers will make a 3.5" on a GenV most likely knock free.
 
Haha the necessary steps to the garbage. well then definetly that pcm and downpipe will be tossed out. im sorry bluegtp91 if i came off as an a$$ but im just really flustered with this. on my gauge it showed up to bout 9 KR on my scan gauge. thats obviously not good. lol. i did have headers which were pacesetter and always ended up with leaks so took em off. what PCM would u recommend beings how u gotta lot work done to your car and knowing whats probably best?

The pacesetters are good except for their leaking. Some can get them to seal better than others.

They seal f'ing awesome when you weld them...go search for a thread about a guy named crywolf or something asked about me welding my pacesetters. I'll send you a PM about it if you still have them b/c for the price you can't beat it.

As for the KR...you either are really getting 9* because you don't have any flow mods or you are getting false KR from something making contact with something else. PCM is dead on from TDC...only other thing I would say is you can get a custom tune, which is WAY better if you have someone local that knows how to tune 3800's. As for the GenV, it isn't all about having a smaller pulley. I bet a 3.8" GenV will outrun your car right now. Even if that 9* is false KR the PCM is still pulling timing making it slow. Those big wheels don't help ya either, or are good for your tranny ;)

Get the GenV installed and put a 3.8" pulley on it and be happy, plus it'll be more efficient and your car will thank you...hell it'll be faster too ;)
 


ya it might be false knock as well. i know the downpipe on it right now is very restrictive cause its still got that double walled tube from the rear manifold then welded with a straight back tube. Ya it really sucks that i cant get a tune anywhere around here cause not many people know about the kind of potential these cars have. as for the gen 5, i cancelled the order with zzp on that. i am having TDCRacing port a gen 3 blower for me and everything. im gettin rid of the zzp pcm and going with an intense pcm. gonna put the pacesetters on thanks to your thread and pm about them. and also take a step back to the 3.6 pulley so i can try to lower that KR.
 
Yeah he seemed to fix the issue of the headers leaking with the welding.

Good call...the GenIII is louder too ;)

With the headers and the new PCM you should be fine with the 3.4". The 3.6" just might be a bit too close to stock and you might be able to get away with a smaller pulley. But just keep in mind that a smaller pulley doesn't always mean a faster car.
